XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Maserati GRAN TURISMO 2007-2026

The Maserati GranTurismo is a 1,880kg front-engined GT riding on the Quattroporte-derived MS02 platform, and that mass is the first thing any suspension upgrade has to reckon with. The factory dampers were tuned for cross-continent composure, which is glorious on a French autoroute and exactly the wrong character if you’re pointing the car down a loose stage road.

The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover for the GranTurismo is the spec to fit when the car is being campaigned on unsealed surfaces – classic rallies, gravel hillclimbs, the kind of regularity events where a 4.2 or 4.7 V8 Maserati turns up and embarrasses the hot-hatch entry. Long-travel valving and gravel-spec spring rates are the headline; the car gets the compliance it needs to keep all four tyres loaded over broken ground without surrendering body control on the transitions.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2026 Maserati GRAN TURISMO

Out of the box the GranTurismo’s nose is heavy and the rear axle wants to step out the moment the surface goes loose. Gravel-spec damping rebalances that. You get longer suspension travel front and rear, softer initial response so the tyre stays in contact through the chatter, and bump valving that absorbs the hits without packing down on a series of compressions. Ride height is fully adjustable, so you can run the nose up to clear ruts and crests that would shred an OEM front splitter. Spring rates are picked for unsealed-surface grip rather than circuit flatness, which means the car works with the road instead of skating across it.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

The Gravel Rally is XYZ Racing’s loose-surface specification, built around the same monotube architecture as the rest of the catalogue but valved and sprung for a completely different job. Stroke length is increased to handle the larger inputs that gravel and broken tarmac feed into the chassis. Damping is biased toward absorption – the shim stack is set up to swallow sharp bumps without spiking, then return the wheel to the ground quickly so the contact patch isn’t airborne when the next hit arrives. Ride-height adjustment is independent of pre-load, so you can set the car high for stage clearance without losing spring travel. Spring rates are softer than the tarmac-rally and circuit specs in the range, which is the correct trade for a surface where mechanical grip beats aero every time.

Fitment for the Maserati GRAN TURISMO (2007-2026)

This kit is built for the MS02-platform GranTurismo across the full 2007-2026 production span, covering the original 4.2, the 4.7 S and MC Stradale, and the later cars. Confirm your chassis code and trim against the configurator before ordering – the MS02 designation covers a long model life with running changes.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
