XYZ Racing Super Sport Coilovers — Infiniti QX50 (P71A) 4WD 2019-2026

The P71A QX50 carries a lot of weight high up – a 1.8-tonne crossover sitting on a transverse VC-Turbo with 4WD hardware tucked under the floor – and the factory dampers were tuned to flatter that mass on motorway runs, not to control it through a B-road. The Super Sport coilover for the 2019-2026 QX50 replaces that compromise with a height-adjustable, 36-way damped platform that lets you drop the body, tighten the secondary ride, and put the chassis where it should have been from the showroom.

For a P71A driven hard on UK roads – or taken out for the occasional trackday – the Super Sport sits in the right place in the XYZ Racing range. Stiff enough to control the QX50’s roll axis and reduce the front-end dive the VC-Turbo nose tends to throw at you under braking, but with enough dampening adjustability to back off for a daily commute.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Infiniti QX50

Drop the QX50 onto its Super Sports and the first thing you notice is the loss of float – that vague, long-stroke secondary motion the factory setup uses to hide the kerb weight. The 36-way bump-and-rebound adjustment lets you take the body control as far as you want it: softer clicks for broken UK B-roads where surface compliance matters, firmer clicks for a smooth circuit where you want the nose to bite on turn-in. Lowering the ride height brings the roll centre back into a sensible window for the lower stance, which is what actually changes how the car feels in fast direction changes, rather than just how it looks parked.

Brake feel improves as a side effect – less nose dive means more consistent pad bite and a brake pedal that doesn’t go long as load transfers forward. For a 4WD crossover that owners are increasingly using as a one-car-does-everything tool, that combination of adjustability and useable stance is the point.

About the Super Sport coilover

The Super Sport sits in the middle of XYZ Racing’s fast-road family and is built around a 36-way damping adjuster that handles bump and rebound on a single click. That single-knob design is what makes it a realistic daily proposition – you can change the damper character at the kerbside in seconds without crawling under the arches. Ride-height adjustment is built into the body of the strut, so corner-weighting and stance are separated from the spring preload, which is the right way to do it on a heavy chassis like the P71A.

XYZ Racing’s brief for the Super Sport is explicit: a damper that absorbs the harshness of bumps and rough surfaces while still giving you the body control of a circuit-focused coilover. That makes it the right pick for a QX50 owner who wants the car to handle properly on a weekend B-road blast or a track day, without surrendering the ride quality you need for a Monday-morning school run.
