XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — BMW 7 SERIES G11/G12 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2015-2022

The G11/G12 7 Series is a two-tonne flagship limousine running BMW’s adaptive electronic dampers from the factory – a system that does a fine job in a chauffeured 740Ld but turns to mush the moment the road surface breaks up and the chassis is asked to actually work. The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover for the G11/G12 throws that compromise out, swapping the EDC struts for a fully mechanical, sealed-stage tarmac rally damper with the electronic cancellation kit included so the dash stays quiet.

This is rally-tuned hardware on a long-wheelbase luxury saloon, which sounds odd until you remember the G11’s air-sprung rear, soft compliance bushes and 5.0-metre body all conspire to load the outside tyre slowly and unload it just as slowly. The Tarmac Rally damper rebuilds that response from the ground up.

What this coilover does for your 2015-2022 Bmw 7 SERIES G11/G12 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping)

Body movement is the first thing that changes. The Tarmac Rally valving suppresses the pitch and float the standard adaptive setup leaves in on broken B-roads, so the G11’s nose stops diving into compressions and the rear stops squatting on throttle. Mid-corner the car settles on the outside damper instead of riding the bumpstop, and steering response sharpens because the front tyres now stay in contact with the surface through the kind of patched, frost-heaved tarmac that a stage rally damper is built to read.

Stopping distances tighten for the same reason – a 1,950kg saloon needs the front tyres planted to load the brake, and the rally-spec compression curve keeps that contact patch loaded under heavy retardation. The included cancellation kit means no EDC fault codes, no limp-home warnings, no iDrive errors after install.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally is built around XYZ’s sealed-stage rally programme: a damper engineered specifically to absorb hard impacts from uneven pavement without rebounding into a secondary oscillation. Construction targets the brutal duty cycle of a tarmac stage – repeated big-hit compressions where a road damper would either pack down or blow off, the Tarmac Rally swallows and recovers.

The valving philosophy is built around tyre traction first. By suppressing body shock instead of transmitting it, the damper keeps vertical load on the contact patch stable across mid-corner bumps, kerb strikes and surface changes. Every setting on the kit comes from XYZ’s own Tarmac Rally racing programme, where the team has spent years correlating damper behaviour to stage times on the kind of mixed-surface tarmac that defeats softer adaptive systems. The cancellation module is wired in to disable the OEM EDC signal cleanly, so the G11/G12’s electronic damping ECU sees a valid load and the car runs without dashboard warnings.

Fitment for the Bmw 7 SERIES G11/G12 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) (2015-2022)

This kit is built specifically for the G11 short-wheelbase and G12 long-wheelbase 7 Series, chassis code BM124-C, model years 2015 to 2022. The cancellation kit for the electronic damping system is included in the package, so cars optioned with EDC from the factory can convert to fully mechanical dampers without throwing fault codes. Confirm your chassis code against the VIN before ordering.
