XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — BMW 7 SERIES G11/G12 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2015-2022

Stage rally in a G11 7 Series sounds absurd until you remember the Carlos Sainz Dakar-spec luxury saloons of the 1990s and the rallycross G-cars that still surface in private hands. If you’re building a G11 or G12 for gravel – whether that’s a privateer rallycross project, a Baltic ice event, or a stripped long-wheelbase chase car – the factory air-and-electronic-damper setup is the first thing that has to go. This XYZ Racing Gravel Rally kit is the replacement, paired with a cancellation harness so the car’s EDC module stops throwing faults the moment the OE struts come out.

The G11 chassis carries close to two tonnes before you start adding cages and skid plates, and the standard adaptive dampers were never designed for repeat compression hits at rally speed. Inverted-tube construction, long stroke, and long springs are the answer here – the same architecture XYZ Racing builds for proper stage cars, scaled to the 7 Series’ mass.

What this coilover does for your 2015-2022 Bmw 7 Series G11/g12 (cancellation Kit For Electronic Damping)

Three things shift the moment this kit is fitted. First, the car stops fighting itself: with the electronic damping cancelled cleanly, there’s no warning light, no limp-mode degradation, and the suspension behaves consistently from the first metre to the last. Second, the long-stroke inverted tubes give the G11 the wheel travel it never had from the factory – genuinely useful on broken gravel where a short-stroke coilover would top out and pitch the nose. Third, the long springs let the chassis breathe over jumps and crests rather than locking into a kerb-strike at full bump. Spring rates have been validated against XYZ Racing rally team data, so the baseline is closer to ready-to-rally than to a starting point you’ll have to spend a season tuning out.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

This is the rally-specific damper in the XYZ Racing range, developed specifically for gravel and rallycross use – the most punishing surface conditions in motorsport. The construction is inverted-tube, which moves the bearing surface and the seal away from stone strikes and reduces shaft flex under heavy side-loads. Long stroke and long springs are not a marketing line here – they are the structural answer to sandstone, snow, and silt stages where a road or circuit coilover would simply run out of travel. The damper has to absorb chassis vibration on washboard surfaces, then survive the G-load of a corner attacked at full commitment, then take a high-speed compression hit on the next crest without fading. Every spring rate in the range has been tested by XYZ Racing rally teams in competition, so you’re not the first person finding out whether a given setting works on a heavy car.

Fitment for the Bmw 7 Series G11/g12 (cancellation Kit For Electronic Damping) (2015-2022)

Confirmed for the G11 and G12 7 Series, chassis code BM124-C, model years 2015 through 2022. This part number includes the cancellation kit required to defeat the factory electronic damping module – that’s the critical detail for this generation, because retrofitting non-adaptive coilovers without the cancellation harness will leave the car throwing EDC errors and potentially affecting other chassis systems.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
  • Iron top mountIronIRONIron upper mount — a heavy-duty housing built to take sustained load where a stronger top mount is required.
