XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — BMW 2 SERIES F22 (M235i) (Modified Rear Integrated) 2014-2026

Send an F22 M235i down a gravel stage and the rear-wheel-drive layout shows its hand almost immediately: turbocharged six-cylinder torque wants to break the rear loose the moment the surface goes loose, and every ridge or washout under the rear axle changes how much grip is actually on offer. The Gravel Rally coilover is built for exactly that inconsistency – fast-changing surfaces, repeated hard hits, and the need to keep the rear tyres in contact with the ground rather than skipping across it.

XYZ Racing built this damper specifically for rally and rallycross use, where the road surface is the roughest of any motorsport discipline the brand covers. On the M235i that means a damper that can absorb chassis vibration transmitted through a stiff BMW subframe while still controlling weight transfer under power – the difference between a car that tracks straight out of a loose hairpin and one that steps sideways without warning.

What this coilover does for your 2014-2026 BMW 2 Series F22 (M235i)

Fit this coilover to an F22 M235i built between 2014 and 2026 and the first thing you notice is how much more of the rear axle’s travel is actually usable. The long-stroke, long-spring setup keeps the rear tyres loaded through compressions and crests instead of unloading and skipping, which matters enormously on a rear-driven car where traction is already the limiting factor. Inverted-tube construction lets the damper cope with sandstone, snow and silt without the shock body taking abuse the piston rod would otherwise absorb, so damping control stays consistent as the stage surface changes underneath you. Spring rates carried over from Rally Racing team testing mean the M235i’s chassis loads predictably corner to corner rather than reacting differently every time the surface changes, and the extra stroke buys real margin against bottoming when G-force spikes on a fast direction change.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Gravel Rally coilover specifically for rally and rallycross competition, where the road surface is more punishing than in any other discipline the brand builds for. The damper uses an inverted-tube layout, putting the larger-diameter tube at the top and the piston rod inside it, so the assembly copes with the sand, snow and loose silt that gravel stages throw at a suspension component. A long stroke and correspondingly long spring give the damper enough travel to absorb chassis vibration from repeated high-speed hits without transmitting that shock straight into the body, and to bear the extreme G-forces generated when a car changes direction hard on a loose surface. Every spring rate in the range has been set using data from an actual rally racing team rather than road-car assumptions, which is why the same basic architecture works across everything from small hatchbacks to a rear-driven six-cylinder coupe like the M235i.

Fitment for the BMW 2 Series F22 (M235i) (2014-2026)

This kit is built for the BMW 2 Series F22 chassis in M235i specification across the 2014-2026 production run, matched to the modified rear end with an integrated rear-suspension mount. Confirm your car matches the M235I chassis code and this rear-end configuration before ordering.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
