XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Volkswagen GOLF MK7 Φ55 (Rear Multi-Link Suspension) Modified Rear Integrated (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2012-2020

The Golf Mk7’s MQB-platform rear multi-link suspension holds its composure well on tarmac, but drop it onto loose gravel or a snow-covered stage and the standard set-up runs out of travel long before the surface runs out of ruts. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover replaces that geometry with dampers built specifically for rally and rally-cross use, giving the rear axle room to move without bottoming out over compressions.

This version is specced for a Golf Mk7 fitted with the modified rear multi-link kit and the cancellation kit for electronic damping – a Mk7 that’s had its factory adaptive dampers removed in favour of manual, mechanically adjustable control. That’s the right combination for anyone taking a Golf off smooth asphalt and onto forest tracks, gravel stages or winter events, where the standard electronics were never calibrated for that kind of surface.

What this coilover does for your 2012-2020 Volkswagen GOLF MK7 Φ55 (Rr Multi-Link Suspension) Modified Rr Integrated (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping)

Longer front and rear damper travel lets the Golf’s chassis absorb bigger hits without the rear end skipping sideways over compressions, which is exactly where a FWD-biased Mk7 loses time on loose surfaces. The extended suspension oil and nitrogen gas volume in each damper keeps shock temperature in check over long stage distances, so damping force doesn’t fade the way it can in a road-spec unit pushed hard for twenty minutes at a stretch. Three external adjustment knobs let you separate compression and rebound settings front to rear as the surface changes from hard-pack gravel to snow, rather than compromising on one road-biased curve. On the multi-link rear end specifically, that adjustability keeps the inside rear tyre loaded through direction changes instead of letting the axle unload and spin the wheel.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow is XYZ Racing’s damper for rally and rally-cross use rather than tarmac circuit driving. Each unit carries a larger internal oil and nitrogen gas reservoir than the brand’s circuit-focused coilovers, which is what keeps shock temperature under control when a stage runs for several minutes over broken ground rather than a two-minute circuit lap. Three adjustment knobs per corner give separate control over compression and rebound, so you can soften the damper for a rutted forest stage or firm it up for hard-pack gravel. The internal oil circuit uses a deliberately small passage design; under hard compression over big bumps this can produce a faint noise as oil moves through it, which is a normal characteristic of the damper rather than a fault, and not something you’ll notice as an issue on the surfaces this kit is built for.

Fitment for the Volkswagen GOLF MK7 (2012-2020)

This kit fits the Volkswagen Golf Mk7, chassis code VO20-4-C, across the 2012 to 2020 production run, in the modified rear multi-link suspension configuration with the cancellation kit for electronic damping – for cars that have had the factory adaptive damper electronics removed in favour of manual adjustment. Confirm your Golf carries this rear suspension and damper configuration before ordering.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
