XYZ Racing Super Sport Coilovers — Toyota YARIS XP90 Modified Rear Integrated 2005-2011

The XP90 Yaris was never built with a proper rear damper in mind for hard use – the factory setup favours ride comfort and a soft, high-riding stance that leaves this light front-wheel-drive supermini wallowing under quick direction changes. A Super Sport kit with an integrated rear shock-and-spring assembly answers that directly, giving the TO64 chassis a lower, planted stance and damping that actually reacts to what a 1-tonne car with not much weight over the rear axle is doing mid-corner.

This is a fast-road and weekend track-day setup, not a full race rig, and that’s the right call for a car this size. The Yaris’s low kerb weight means spring and damping changes are felt more than on a heavier saloon, so getting the balance right on a car like this matters more than the numbers alone suggest.

What this coilover does for your 2005-2011 Toyota Yaris

Dropping the ride height on the XP90 tightens up body control that the factory suspension simply doesn’t have the range to manage, cutting the roll that makes this car feel unsettled when you’re pushing on. The 36-way damping adjustment lets you soften things off for the commute and firm the rear up for a track session without swapping parts, which matters on a car often used for both. Because the rear shock and spring are integrated into a single unit on this application, the rear axle – already carrying less of the car’s weight than the engine-heavy front – gets a more direct, better-controlled response instead of the vague, sofa-like rear end most standard Yaris owners are used to. Ride height adjustment also fixes the slightly gawky, tall-supermini stance that undermines an otherwise well-sorted modified XP90.

About the Super Sport coilover

The Super Sport damper is built to take the harshness out of poor road surfaces without dulling response, using 36-way adjustment to retune the damping curve for whatever the car’s doing that day. Ride height is independently adjustable, so you can set the stance and the corner weights separately from how firm the damper runs. XYZ Racing positions this as a dual-use unit – sorted enough for a Sunday track session, comfortable enough that it doesn’t beat you up on the drive home. On a chassis as light as the Yaris, that adjustability range does more work than it would on a heavier car, because small damping changes shift the balance noticeably.

Fitment for the Toyota Yaris XP90 (2005-2011)

This kit is built for the XP90-generation Yaris, chassis code TO64, covering the 2005-2011 model years. It uses the modified, rear-integrated shock-and-spring configuration for this application rather than a separate rear spring and damper – confirm your car matches this rear-end layout before ordering.
