XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Toyota CAMRY XV10 (TYPE 2) 1992-1996

The XV10 Camry left the factory tuned for quiet motorway cruising, with soft springs and long-travel damping that let the nose dive under braking and the body lean hard through a quick corner. The XYZ Racing Racing Spec coilover exists to undo all of that. It is the firmest, most circuit-focused setup in the XYZ range, built for owners turning a 1992-1996 Camry into a track or time-attack car.

Where a fast-road kit chases comfort, the Racing Spec chases control. Its damping was developed through direct competition, including WTCC touring car running, rather than guessed at on a spreadsheet – which is exactly what a heavy, nose-led front-driver like the XV10 needs once cornering speeds climb.

What this coilover does for your 1992-1996 Toyota Camry XV10 (type 2)

Fit the Racing Spec and the first thing you notice is how much flatter the Camry sits through a loaded corner. The stiffer spring and damper rates rein in the roll the factory car carries, so the front tyres stay planted instead of rolling onto their shoulders. Under hard braking the nose stops pitching forward, which keeps the front contact patch consistent into a turn – worth a lot on a chassis carrying as much weight over the front axle as this one. Lowered ride height drops the centre of gravity and sharpens turn-in, and the adjustability lets you set corner balance for the specific circuit you run.

About the Racing Spec coilover

The Racing Spec sits at the hard end of the XYZ Racing line, made specifically for circuit racing rather than road use. Its settings were not arrived at in isolation: they come from XYZ’s own participation in motorsport, including WTCC-level touring car competition, so the valving reflects what holds up on track under sustained load. For cars built well beyond standard, XYZ also offers a bespoke route. Supply the details of your engine, aero and other upgrades along with the circuits you intend to run, and they will build custom shock absorbers matched to that specification, the same way dampers are made for factory race vehicles and A-class racing machinery. For an XV10 Camry being prepared seriously, that custom path means the suspension can be valved around real corner speeds and real weight rather than a generic assumption.
