XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Subaru IMPREZA GDA/GDB STI A-D/GGA/GGB (PCD:5 X 100) 2WD/4WD 2000-2007

The GD Impreza’s reputation was forged on gravel – the GDB STI platform underpinned Subaru’s WRC campaigns of the early 2000s and left the factory with geometry biased toward loose-surface competition. For owners taking a 2000-2007 GDA, GDB, GGA, or GGB onto rally stages or rallycross grids, the factory-fitted dampers handle smooth tarmac adequately but fall short on travel the moment terrain turns rough. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover for the Subaru Impreza addresses that directly, with extended stroke on both axles designed specifically for Rally Racing and Rally Cross use.

Longer travel matters because crest compressions that would merely unsettle a road car can bottom a standard damper and unload the GDB’s rear axle at precisely the wrong moment. With greater buffer distance front and rear, this kit keeps the suspension working through the surface changes a gravel stage delivers.

What this coilover does for your 2000-2007 Subaru IMPREZA GDA/GDB STI A-D/GGA/GGB

Extended front and rear travel addresses the GD chassis’s primary limitation on loose surfaces: the factory stroke was sized for fast road and track use, not sustained gravel compression loads. Increased suspension oil volume, combined with a pressurised nitrogen gas charge, resists damper fade across long stage runs – the shocks maintain consistent response from the opening sector to the finish. Three adjustment knobs put meaningful control in the driver’s hands, allowing damper response to be tuned for the day’s surface; deeper gravel demands softer settings to keep mechanical grip consistent, while packed snow or ice may call for a firmer tune to minimise body movement. The GGA and GGB Sportwagon variants – running the same PCD:5×100 specification – are covered alongside the saloon.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

XYZ Racing’s Pro Racing Gravel/Snow is a coilover built for Rally Racing and Rally Cross competition. The defining difference from road or track variants is travel: both front and rear units offer a longer stroke, increasing the buffer distance before the suspension reaches its limits on rough, undulating, or crested surfaces. The enlarged oil capacity and nitrogen gas charge serve two distinct functions – damper stability under sustained load, and thermal protection against the heat that builds in shock oil during long runs; overheated oil thins and produces inconsistent damping at the worst possible moment. Three adjustment knobs allow stage-by-stage tuning, and the valving incorporates a small oil-passage design that creates a hydraulic buffer under extreme inputs. Drivers should be aware that large compressions can produce a brief noise from this passage – this is normal operation, not a sign of damage. This is a dedicated competition component, not a road-oriented kit wearing rally graphics.

Fitment for the Subaru IMPREZA GDA/GDB STI A-D/GGA/GGB (PCD:5 X 100) 2WD/4WD (2000-2007)

This kit is confirmed for Subaru Impreza chassis codes GDA and GDB (saloon body, including STI specifications A through D) and GGA and GGB (Sportwagon) built between 2000 and 2007, on the PCD:5×100 bolt pattern. Both 2WD and 4WD drivetrains are covered under chassis reference SU05. If you are uncertain whether your car falls within this code range, check the chassis identification plate before ordering.

Configure your adjustment settings and add this kit to your 2000-2007 Impreza below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
