XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Subaru FORESTER SG 4WD 2003-2007

The Forester SG’s raised crossover body – a lifted, permanent-AWD wagon built on the same platform as the contemporary Impreza – was never designed with drift angle in mind. XYZ Racing’s Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover exists specifically to correct that: it drops the ride height and locks down the body control that competitive drifting punishes hardest, the moment a symmetrical-AWD car snaps into oversteer and needs its weight transfer managed rather than fought.

This is circuit-track kit, not fast-road comfort kit. Built for the Subaru Forester SG 4WD across the full 2003-2007 range, it’s aimed at drivers running this chassis in drift competition who need the body to hold a controlled angle through repeated high-speed direction changes, not just look the part in the paddock.

What this coilover does for your 2003-2007 Subaru Forester SG 4WD

Drop the SG’s factory ride height with this coilover and you immediately cut the body roll a tall Forester carries into a slide – less roll means the chassis transmits driver input to the road more directly, which matters when you’re catching an AWD car mid-correction rather than a lighter rear-drive one. The three external adjustment knobs let you tune compression and rebound independently at each corner, so you can firm up the front for sharper turn-in on entry and soften the rear enough to let the tail rotate on command rather than snapping. Proper bump-stroke calibration means the damper still has travel left when you’re crossed up over a kerb or a track’s inevitable mid-corner ripple, instead of bottoming out and breaking the angle you’ve just built. On a platform that’s naturally more upright than a coupe, that combination of lowered centre of gravity and corner-by-corner adjustment is what turns the Forester SG from a tall wagon into something you can hold sideways with intent.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built the Pro Racing Drift Spec around one job: keeping the car’s body stable while it’s turning hard at speed, so the driver can hold a clean, repeatable angle rather than correct a moving target. Each corner runs three external adjustment knobs, feeding damping oil through a deliberately narrow internal passage – a small-hole design that gives finer control over compression and rebound than a standard single-knob setup allows. Combined with a lowered ride height and a bump stroke tuned for that reduced travel, the result is a chassis that stays composed through the repeated weight transfer of competitive drift runs. One thing worth knowing: because oil is being forced through that narrower passage, you may hear a faint noise from the damper when the car crosses a sharp bump – that’s the oil doing its job through the small-hole path, not a fault, and it’s accounted for in a coilover built for circuit-track use rather than everyday road imperfections.

Fitment for the Subaru FORESTER SG 4WD (2003-2007)

This kit is specified for the Subaru FORESTER SG 4WD, chassis code SU02, across the entire 2003-2007 production run. It’s built for the permanent all-wheel-drive SG variant specifically – confirm your Forester matches this chassis code and drivetrain before ordering, as coilover valving and mounting differ between AWD and other configurations on related Subaru platforms.

Every Pro Racing Drift Spec kit is built to spec for your exact Forester SG 4WD – pick your damping and ride-height settings and build yours below.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
