XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Subaru FORESTER SG 4WD 2003-2007

The Forester SG’s raised estate body rides on the same symmetrical all-wheel-drive platform as the Impreza GD, so the roll centres and diff response underneath are sound, but the extra ground clearance works against you the moment load builds through a fast corner. XYZ Racing’s Circuit Master coilover kit is built for sustained circuit lap-time work, and on the Forester that means correcting the one thing the factory set-up can’t: body control under repeated cornering load, not just a single quick input.

Where a fast-road kit compromises on ride height to keep some daily manners, Circuit Master goes the other way and treats every setting as track-first. Height-adjustable coilover bodies bring the Forester’s centre of gravity down from the factory ride height, while damping that can be tuned independently front and rear lets you balance the nose-heavy boxer/AWD drivetrain against a rear end that otherwise ends up doing most of the cornering work on a tall estate body.

What this coilover does for your 2003-2007 Subaru Forester SG

Drop the ride height on a 2003-2007 Forester SG and body roll through direction changes falls immediately, because you’re removing leverage the standard suspension was never asked to control. The 9720 damping combinations available across the kit’s 3 adjustment knobs mean you can set compression stiff enough to resist dive under trail braking into a hairpin, then back rebound off enough that the symmetrical AWD system can still put power down cleanly on corner exit. For an SG seeing regular circuit use rather than the odd trackday, that adjustment range is what separates a kit you set once and leave from one you can retune between sessions as tyres and track temperature change. Braking stability improves too – less nose dive keeps the front axle loaded and predictable under hard, repeated stops.

About the Circuit Master coilover

Circuit Master sits at the top of XYZ Racing’s range and is built specifically around repeated, sustained circuit driving rather than a single fast lap. The damper body is paired with 3 external adjustment knobs, giving 9720 possible damping combinations so compression and rebound can be matched to a specific car, tyre and circuit rather than left at a generic fast-road setting. XYZ states the kit is tested through its own racing teams competing on circuits internationally, and the damper’s internals use a small oil-hole design at each adjustment stage – over kerbs or rough sections this can produce a faint noise as oil moves through the narrower passage, which is a normal characteristic of this valving rather than a fault. The kit is engineered around circuit surfaces specifically, so kerb strikes and track bumps are accounted for in that design rather than treated as an afterthought.

Fitment for the Subaru Forester SG (2003-2007)

This Circuit Master kit is built for the Subaru Forester SG, chassis code SU02, across the full 2003-2007 production run, covering the 4WD drivetrain fitted throughout the range. Confirm your Forester falls within this year span before ordering, since suspension mounting points changed at later Forester generations, which use a different chassis code entirely.
