XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Nissan SKYLINE R33 BCNR33 4WD (Rear FORK) 1995-1998

The BCNR33’s ATTESA E-TS system was never asked to manage a snow stage, yet the torque split logic remains an asset when the surface turns to gravel or silt – provided the suspension can keep all four wheels loading consistently. The problem is factory R33 GT-R dampers weren’t built for that brief: travel is limited, spring rates are road-optimised, and the rear fork geometry demands matched components to function correctly under off-road inputs. The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover for the Nissan Skyline R33 BCNR33 4WD (Rr Fork), covering the 1995-1998 model run, addresses those gaps directly.

Rally and rallycross represent the harshest use case a coilover will face – repeated compression at speed, unpredictable surface changes, and structural loads that accumulate across an entire stage or heat. The Gravel Rally specification answers with inverted tube construction, long-stroke damping, and extended springs developed through actual rally team testing rather than road or track extrapolation.

What this coilover does for your 1995-1998 Nissan SKYLINE R33 BCNR33 4WD (Rr FORK)

The long-stroke setup prevents the R33 GT-R’s chassis from bottoming over compressions that would exceed a standard damper’s range within a single stage. Extended springs maintain consistent wheel contact as terrain drops and returns rapidly – essential when ATTESA E-TS is apportioning torque between axles and needs all four tyres engaged with the surface. Inverted tube construction concentrates damper rigidity at the top of the unit, resisting the bending loads produced during hard lateral cornering on loose surfaces. For the Rr Fork rear configuration specific to the BCNR33, the units are matched to the car’s multi-link rear geometry so motion ratios remain correct through full suspension travel.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built the Gravel Rally damper for the most demanding suspension environment in motorsport: gravel rally and rallycross, where road conditions are more aggressive than any circuit or tarmac stage. The inverted tube (upside-down) design places the larger-diameter section at the top of the damper, adding structural rigidity precisely where bending stresses are highest during high-speed off-road deflections. Long-stroke dampers work in tandem with long springs to absorb the sustained high-frequency vibration of a fast gravel road, while also coping with the abrupt, extreme compressions of crests and jumps taken at pace. Spring rate settings across the range have been established through rally racing team testing – covering sandstone, compacted snow, and loose silt – so the setup can be configured for the surface conditions the car will actually encounter, rather than a compromise that suits none of them.

Fitment for the Nissan SKYLINE R33 BCNR33 4WD (Rr FORK) (1995-1998)

This kit covers the NI39 chassis specification – the BCNR33 four-wheel-drive Skyline R33 GT-R produced from 1995 to 1998. The Rr Fork designation refers to the rear suspension fork architecture specific to the GT-R configuration; confirm this matches your build before ordering. The non-GT-R R33 Skyline uses a different rear layout and requires a separate kit specification.

These coilovers are tested and rated for all three major loose-surface types. Configure yours below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
