XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Nissan PULSAR N15 1995-2000

The N15 Pulsar arrived at gravel rallying with a structural limitation baked in from the factory: a torsion beam rear axle calibrated for road use, not the sustained impacts of loose-surface stage competition. On gravel, that constraint shows itself quickly – wheel articulation runs out before the terrain does, and the car starts taking hits it cannot properly absorb. Up front, the MacPherson struts are already under double duty on a front-wheel-drive platform, asked to manage traction, steering, and braking forces simultaneously before the road surface even enters the equation.

The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover for the Nissan Pulsar N15 addresses this directly. Longer spring travel, stiffer-but-predictable spring rates validated by rally team testing, and an inverted-tube damper design that keeps the chassis composed through the kind of high-speed compressions and lateral loading that tarmac-spec suspension cannot absorb without giving up.

What this coilover does for your 1995-2000 Nissan Pulsar N15

The inverted tube construction reduces unsprung mass at the front strut – on a FWD car like the N15, where the front axle manages driven, steered, and braked loads all at once, that saving has a measurable effect on how the car responds to rapid surface changes. Long-stroke damper travel gives the suspension the articulation it needs through ruts and crests rather than topping or bottoming out at speed. Spring rates across the kit have been developed and validated by a rally racing team, so the figures aren’t theoretical numbers but values that have been proved under competition conditions, across the kinds of variable surfaces a full rally stage actually presents.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

This is a specialist competition component, not a road-to-track crossover product. XYZ Racing developed the Gravel Rally coilover specifically for rally cross and stage rally use, where road conditions shift from compacted sandstone to snow to silt within a single event. The inverted tube design – where the inner tube forms the structural outer body – delivers greater lateral stiffness under the side-loading that high-speed loose-surface corners generate. Extended spring and damper travel lets the suspension absorb aggressive compressions without the car running into its bump stops at the worst possible moment. All spring rate settings in the range have been signed off by XYZ’s own rally racing team, ensuring they function under competitive loads rather than only on a test rig.

Fitment for the Nissan Pulsar N15 (1995-2000)

This kit covers the N15 Nissan Pulsar across the full 1995-2000 production run, chassis code N15. The N15 GTI (SR20DE) and the lower-specification GA-engined cars share the same fundamental strut architecture, so fitment spans the range. If your car carries any factory modifications to the suspension pickup points, confirm the specific strut dimensions before ordering.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.
  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
