XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Nissan PULSAR N14 1990-1995

The Nissan Pulsar N14 is the platform that gave us the GTI-R – the short, light, SR20DET-powered hatch Nissan homologated for its Group A rally programme. That competition DNA is the point here. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is built for the surfaces the N14 was bred to attack: gravel special stages, rallycross heats, and snow, where a tarmac-biased damper runs out of stroke and packs down within the first few corners.

This is a long-travel, loose-surface weapon rather than a circuit ride-height toy. The extra suspension stroke front and rear keeps the wheels loaded over ruts, crests and snow banks, and the enlarged oil and gas capacity is there to hold damping force together when a stage punishes the shocks for minutes at a time.

What this coilover does for your 1990-1995 Nissan PULSAR N14

On a loose surface, the gain is traction you can actually use. The longer travel lets the N14’s suspension follow gravel and snow rather than skating across the top of it, so the car stays planted under power out of slow corners – exactly where the GTI-R’s all-wheel-drive layout wants to put its torque down. The increased oil and nitrogen volume resists fade, so the rear stays composed deep into a long run instead of going vague as temperatures climb. Three-way adjustment lets you soften for deep snow and ruts or firm up for harder-packed gravel, matching the damper to stage conditions rather than guessing.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

This damper is engineered first and foremost for rally and rallycross duty. The headline change over a circuit kit is travel: longer stroke at both ends creates a bigger buffer before the suspension runs out of movement, which keeps the car stable when it lands hard or crashes through a compression. To support that, the design carries a greater volume of shock oil and nitrogen gas, raising thermal stability and stopping the oil from overheating and giving up after sustained hard use. It runs three adjustment knobs, and the internal small-oil-hole design means that over large impacts the oil is forced through a tight passage – this can produce a faint noise, which is normal behaviour for this construction and not a fault. Despite the gravel/snow focus, the build is robust enough for circuit surfaces where bumps are no concern.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
