XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Nissan 300 Z Z32 1989-2000

The Z32 was never built as a drift car, but its fundamentals are sound enough: double-wishbone front, multi-link rear, and a VG30DETT that delivers its power in a turbocharged surge rather than a linear pull. What works against it in a competition context is equally clear – a ride height set for GT cruising, spring rates that let the body roll through high-speed direction changes, and factory dampers that, on any Z32 from 1989 to 2000, have long since peaked.

Built for competition drifting, the XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover for the Nissan 300 Z Z32 addresses the gap between a capable chassis and a drift-ready one. It lowers the car while retaining proper travel in reserve – the difference between a planted, predictable platform and one that gets unpredictable when the rear loads up mid-angle.

What this coilover does for your 1989-2000 Nissan 300 Z Z32

The VG30DETT’s power delivery is abrupt enough that body composure at high angle is non-negotiable. Proper ride height reduction via the Drift Spec brings the centre of gravity down and reduces the side-to-side weight transfer that makes a high-sitting car difficult to hold in a sustained slide. The Z32’s double-wishbone front geometry responds well to the lower stance – turn-in sharpens, and the understeer built into the stock calibration at speed becomes far more manageable. For a chassis running original dampers, the improvement in body control is direct.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing’s Drift Spec series is designed for drift competition, where stabilising the body through high-speed turns and controlling entry angle under power are the core requirements. Ride height is reduced with bump stroke carefully maintained – critical, because collapsing travel to achieve a lower stance is a false economy that makes surface changes mid-corner impossible to handle. The result is a kit that lets a driver push entry angle harder with the body staying settled as the rear loads up. Developed with competition as the primary target, the Drift Spec addresses directly what a GT-calibrated factory setup cannot deliver when a Z32 is being asked to perform sustained angle work.

Fitment for the Nissan 300 Z Z32 (1989-2000)

This kit covers the Z32 chassis from 1989 to 2000 – the full production run of the Nissan 300 Z Z32. Front suspension is double-wishbone, rear is multi-link; the Drift Spec kit fits both and works across the two-seat and 2+2 body configurations. Confirm your build specification and any existing suspension modifications before ordering.
