XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Mitsubishi ECLIPSE 2000-2006

The third-generation Eclipse left the factory tuned for relaxed boulevard cruising, with soft, long-travel damping that has nothing in common with the demands of a gravel special or a snow-covered stage. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover rebuilds that front-drive coupe around loose-surface control, handing it the stroke and damping headroom the standard struts were never designed to provide.

This is rally and rallycross hardware first. Both axles get longer travel and a deliberately larger reserve of shock oil and nitrogen gas, so the dampers keep doing their job over a long stage when a short-stroke tarmac coilover would have run out of buffer or overheated its fluid. For a nose-heavy 2000-2006 Eclipse working a rough surface, that extra travel is the difference between a settled front end and one that skips off line.

What this coilover does for your 2000-2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse

The longer buffer distance front and rear means big compressions – ruts, crests, a badly judged jump landing – get absorbed rather than slamming into a bump stop, keeping the Eclipse planted when the surface turns ugly. The enlarged oil and nitrogen volume resists heat build-up, so damping stays consistent through repeated stages instead of going vague as the fluid warms. Three separate adjustment knobs let you set the car up for the conditions, softening things off for deep gravel or firming up when grip improves. One honest note: on sharp, large bumps you may hear a faint sound as oil passes through the small internal port – that is the design working as intended, not a fault.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

This damper was developed specifically for rally racing and rallycross, where surface is unpredictable and stages are long. The extended front and rear travel creates a bigger buffer zone that keeps the car stable over the kind of impacts loose stages throw at it. Its defining feature is the increased capacity for shock oil and nitrogen gas, which holds damping performance steady and stops the fluid temperature climbing to the point where the shock fades after sustained hard use. The three-knob adjustment runs through a small oil-passage design, which is why you sometimes hear a slight noise over heavy bumps. While it is built to soak up loose-surface punishment, the same long-travel construction means rough circuit work holds no concern for it either.

Fitment for the Mitsubishi Eclipse (2000-2006)

This kit is built for the MT15-chassis Mitsubishi Eclipse across the full 2000 to 2006 run. Fitment covers the third-generation coupe and Spyder bodyshell as supplied; confirm your exact variant against the configurator before ordering.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
