The second-generation Mitsubishi Diamante left the factory as a soft, long-legged V6 saloon, which is exactly why a loose-surface coilover transforms its character. XYZ Racing’s Pro Racing Gravel/Snow kit was drawn up for rally and rallycross duty, with extended damper travel at both ends so the MT11-1 chassis can ride out ruts, crests and broken camber without running its suspension out of stroke.
On gravel or packed snow, a standard Diamante’s lazy wheel movement turns to wallow the instant you load the car. This Mitsubishi Diamante coilover swaps that for long, controlled damping that keeps the nose-heavy front axle settled when you lift off or trail the brakes into a slippery corner, then holds the body flat as grip comes and goes underneath you.
What this coilover kit does for your 1997-2002 Mitsubishi Diamante
The biggest gain you feel on a 1997-2002 Mitsubishi Diamante is composure over poor surfaces. The longer travel front and rear gives the wheels room to follow the ground rather than skipping across it, so traction on gravel and snow stays consistent through bumps that would unsettle a road-spring car. The enlarged oil and nitrogen gas volume inside each damper resists heat build-up, which means the kit keeps doing its job over a long stage or a full rallycross heat instead of going soft as the fluid warms. Three-way adjustment lets you set the car up firmer for hard-packed surfaces or softer for deep gravel, and the raised buffer distance keeps the Diamante stable when a landing or a compression tries to bottom it out.
About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover
The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow damper is built specifically for rally and rallycross rather than smooth tarmac. Its defining trait is travel: both front and rear units are given a longer working stroke, creating a larger buffer zone that keeps the car settled across ruts and jumps. Internally, XYZ Racing has increased the volume of both the shock oil and the nitrogen gas charge, which stabilises damping behaviour and stops the oil temperature climbing to the point where performance fades after sustained hard use. Adjustment runs across three knobs, and the design uses a small oil-passage port – so when you hit a large bump, the fluid forced through that narrow passage can produce a faint noise. That sound is normal and expected for this construction. The kit is engineered for loose-surface circuit and stage work, where surface impacts are part of the job.
Fitment for the Mitsubishi Diamante (1997-2002)
This kit is built for the second-generation Mitsubishi Diamante, chassis code MT11-1, across the 1997 to 2002 model years. Fitment covers that chassis and year span as listed; confirm your exact build against the chassis code before configuring, and only the details shown here are verified for this application.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
Top mounts included with your kit
Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.
Front
Pillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
Hardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.
Rear
AluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
