XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Honda CITY GM 2013-2019

The Honda CITY GM is an unlikely circuit weapon – a light, front-wheel-drive saloon with a willing 1.5 i-VTEC and a chassis that responds disproportionately to suspension work. The standard damping was tuned for Bangkok ride quality, not for sustained 20-minute stints at Bedford or Snetterton, and it shows the moment you start asking the front end to carry mid-corner speed. This is the coilover XYZ Racing built for owners who have outgrown that compromise.

The Circuit Master is the top of the XYZ ladder – the same platform XYZ Racing teams run in international race series, with 9720 distinct adjustment combinations across three separate knobs. For a 1,100kg saloon being driven hard on track, that breadth of adjustment is the point. You set it once for your circuit, your tyre, and your driving style, and the car stops moving around underneath you.

What this coilover does for your 2013-2019 Honda CITY GM

On the GM platform the gains are immediate and structural. Body roll on turn-in collapses, which means the outside front tyre stops scrubbing through the contact patch and the car starts rotating on throttle rather than ploughing. The three-way damping – independent bump, rebound, and a third circuit on the high-speed valving – lets you keep the ride compliant enough to use kerbs without unsettling the rear axle. Brake dive over fast kerb-to-kerb transitions calms down, so trail-braking into a slow second-gear corner becomes a precise tool rather than a leap of faith. Across a 15-lap stint the car behaves the same on lap 14 as it did on lap 2, which is what separates a track coilover from a fast-road one.

About the Circuit Master coilover

The Circuit Master sits at the top of XYZ Racing’s competition range, alongside their Racing Spec, Drift Spec, and Tarmac Rally builds. It is a three-knob design – separate adjusters for compression, rebound, and a third high-speed circuit – yielding 9720 possible damping combinations. The valving uses small-diameter oil passages, which is what gives the damper its precision under sustained load on smooth circuit surfaces; it is also why the unit can emit a faint hydraulic note when driven over sharp road bumps, which XYZ documents as normal behaviour for this spec. This is a circuit-first damper, developed and validated by XYZ race teams in international competition, and the engineering decisions reflect that priority. Construction is the full competition spec – monotube body, hardened piston rod, threaded lower mount for ride-height adjustment independent of preload.
