XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Ferrari 488 GTB (without hydraulic lift system) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2016-2026

A 488 GTB on a gravel stage is not a thought most Maranello engineers entertained, but the chassis underneath the carbon and the twin-turbo F154 is more capable than its showroom life suggests. Strip away the road-bias and the factory magnetorheological dampers, and the FE03 tub will take a hammering – provided what sits between hub and chassis is built to absorb it.

That is what this kit exists for. The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover replaces the 488 GTB’s electronic damping entirely (the cancellation harness is included) and swaps the lift-equipped factory setup for a long-stroke, inverted-strut platform engineered around loose-surface stage work.

What this coilover does for your 2016-2026 Ferrari 488 GTB

On gravel, the suspension is not a fine-tuning device – it is a survival device. The inverted tube layout puts the larger-diameter, more rigid section at the top of the strut, where bending loads from a 670bhp mid-engined car landing on broken sandstone want to twist a conventional damper into submission. Stroke length is the second half of the equation: the longer the shaft travel, the longer the contact patch stays loaded when the road drops away under throttle. For a 488 owner converting the car for rally or rallycross, that translates to a chassis that stops skipping over corrugations and starts driving across them.

The cancellation kit removes the factory adaptive damping signal cleanly, so the dash does not throw a tantrum and the suspension behaves as the spring and damper dictate rather than as a software map predicts.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

This is XYZ Racing’s most specialised damper, developed specifically for rally and rallycross – the harshest service conditions any road-car-derived suspension will see. The construction uses inverted-tube design so the unit can survive impact loading on sandstone, snow and silt without flexing through the body. Long stroke and a long, soft spring are paired to absorb the chassis oscillations that come from attacking a bouncy stage road at speed, and to handle the lateral G-forces that build through a long, loose-surface corner. Spring rates are not theoretical – XYZ Racing develops and tests them with rally race teams in actual competition, which is the only environment where this kind of damper specification can be honestly validated. There is no fast-road or circuit pretension here; the Gravel Rally is a single-purpose tool.

Fitment for the Ferrari 488 GTB (2016-2026)

Specified for the FE03-1-C chassis 488 GTB without the factory hydraulic lift system, model years 2016 through 2026. The supplied harness cancels the electronic damping control. Cars originally fitted with the front-axle lift will need to be deleted as part of the install.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit
