XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Ferrari 488 GTB (without hydraulic lift system) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2016-2026

Drifting a mid-engined, twin-turbo V8 Ferrari is a deliberate act of provocation, and the 488 GTB’s factory chassis was never built to indulge it. The standard car’s magnetorheological damping is tuned to keep the rear axle planted, the Side Slip Control software is constantly working against you, and the F154CB’s 660bhp arrives in a brutal turbocharged surge that punishes any setup not built to absorb it. This XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover kit replaces both the active dampers and the OEM springs with a fully mechanical, manually controlled platform – and ships with the electronic damping cancellation kit so the dashboard stops complaining the moment the originals come out.

The FE03-1-C chassis code covers 2016-2026 488 GTB cars without the hydraulic front-axle lift. Sliding a 488 takes a coilover that can hold a steady angle while the rear tyres are scrubbing past their limit, then settle the body the instant the throttle relaxes – and that is the brief this kit is engineered around.

What this coilover does for your 2016-2026 Ferrari 488 GTB

Lowering the 488 on a properly valved drift platform changes the car’s behaviour the second you load the front end. Roll centres come back where they belong, weight transfers more predictably onto the outside front tyre on initiation, and the rear axle responds to throttle inputs with linearity instead of the on/off hand-off you get when the factory magnetic dampers are fighting the slip angle. Stiffer, mechanically adjustable damping holds the body flat through a long sweeper so you can carry the angle past apex without the chassis trying to recover itself. Bump stroke is reworked specifically for drift use, meaning the suspension stays in its working window through entry, transition and exit instead of bottoming out mid-slide. The electronic damping cancellation kit handles the CAN-bus side so the magnetic ride warning lights go dark and the car drives without throwing faults.

About the Drift Spec coilover

The Drift Spec is built for one job: competitive drifting. The valving is set up to stabilise the body at high cornering speeds so the driver can commit to and hold a clean angle, and the spring rates and bump strokes have been chosen specifically so that controlled, repeatable slides are the natural state of the car rather than something you have to wrestle out of it. Construction follows XYZ Racing’s mainline coilover format – mechanically adjustable height, damping and preload, all serviceable and rebuildable rather than sealed units. After dropping the ride height to the recommended window, the bump stroke pairs with the damping curve to give controlled body movement on initiation and a settled rear platform on exit. The bundled cancellation kit is what makes this swap viable on a 488 in the first place – without it, you cannot delete the OEM magnetorheological dampers without triggering chassis-management faults.

Fitment for the Ferrari 488 GTB (2016-2026)

This kit fits the FE03-1-C chassis 488 GTB built between 2016 and 2026, specifically cars NOT equipped with the optional hydraulic front-axle lift system. The cancellation kit for the OEM electronic damping is included in the part, so a single order covers both the coilover hardware and the CAN-bus side of removing the magnetic dampers.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
