XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Ferrari 458 / 458 Spider (without hydraulic lift system) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2010-2015

A mid-engined 4.5-litre flat-plane V8 on a sealed special stage is not a setup most suspension brands are asked to solve. The 458’s chassis was tuned around magnetorheological damping and the smooth-mat reality of Fiorano – point it at a Targa Florio Historic Rally stage or a tarmac round of a national rally championship and the standard car’s composure starts to unravel exactly where the surface stops being billiard-smooth.

The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover for the 2010-2015 Ferrari 458 / 458 Spider is built for that environment. Settings come from XYZ’s own Tarmac Rally racing programme, and the kit includes the cancellation module needed to disable the factory electronic damping cleanly on chassis without the hydraulic lift system.

What this coilover does for your 2010-2015 Ferrari 458 / 458 Spider

The first thing you notice is what the car stops doing – the unsettled rear over mid-corner ripples, the sudden loss of contact patch when the inside wheel hits a heave on full throttle. This damper is engineered to absorb the jolt when the car crosses a big bump, suppress unwanted body movement, and keep the rear tyres planted where the factory setup would have skipped wide. On a 562bhp rear-driven mid-engined car running sticky tarmac compound, that traction recovery is the difference between a clean exit and a corrected slide. Stage pace comes from the platform letting you trust the front end into braking zones that are never flat.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

This is a purpose-developed sealed-stage tarmac rally damper, not a road coilover with stiffer springs. Construction prioritises impact absorption over outright low-amplitude control – the valving is tuned to swallow kerb strikes, surface joins and the broken edges that define rally tarmac, then recover platform composure immediately afterward. Every setting in the kit comes from XYZ’s Tarmac Rally racing experience, so spring rates, damping curves and bump-stop progression are matched to the work the car has to do on stage. The supplied cancellation kit disables the 458’s electronic damping control unit so the OE ECU does not fight the new dampers or throw faults – essential on any 458 fitted with magnetorheological dampers but no hydraulic lift system.

Fitment for the Ferrari 458 / 458 Spider (2010-2015)

Engineered for chassis code FE05-C, covering the Ferrari 458 Italia coupe and 458 Spider built 2010-2015, specifically the variants without the hydraulic front lift system. The kit ships with the electronic damping cancellation module required for these cars – confirm your 458 does not have the front-axle lift option before ordering this specific part number.
