XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — BMW 4 SERIES F82 M4 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2014-2020

The F82 M4’s stock Adaptive M suspension is a clever piece of engineering until you point it at a stage road – then the electronics start second-guessing every input and the S55 twin-turbo’s 425bhp arrives at a chassis that can’t decide whether it’s a GT or a sharpened tool. The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover for the F82 M4 throws the DSC-controlled damper logic out entirely and replaces it with a passive, mechanically adjustable damper built around tarmac stage abuse.

Crucially, this is the variant with the electronic damping cancellation kit included, so the M4’s EDC module won’t throw a fault light the moment you crank the ignition. For an F82 owner who wants to enter sealed-surface rallying or a fast road / stage hybrid build without dashboard error codes, this is the entry point.

What this coilover does for your 2014-2020 Bmw 4 Series F82 M4 (cancellation Kit For Electronic Damping)

The F82 carries roughly 54 percent of its mass over the front axle and the S55 doesn’t help – the M4 wants to push the nose on turn-in when the road surface goes uneven. Replacing the OEM electronic dampers with a passive, properly valved tarmac rally setup gives you a chassis that responds to driver input rather than to a control unit’s interpretation of it. Compression and rebound become things you set with a spanner, not menu options.

Across broken tarmac and crested stage roads the damper soaks the hit and resettles the contact patch instead of skipping. Body control sharpens, brake stability improves under threshold inputs, and the rear axle stops getting nervous over compressions. The included cancellation kit clears the EDC error logic so the dash stays clean and the car drives like a proper analogue M car again.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally damper is built specifically for sealed-stage rally use, where the surface is paved but punishing – patched repairs, mid-corner crests, jump landings on closed-road specials. XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally settings come from the team’s own rally programme, so the valving is biased toward impact absorption rather than circuit-style platform stiffness. It is designed to soak the jolt of a big bump, suppress unwanted body movement through the hit, and keep the tyre loaded for traction on the exit.

Construction is wound around a damper body that can handle repeated high-energy compression cycles without fade – the failure mode of a circuit coilover used for stage work. Spring rates and damping curves are matched to the F82’s weight and geometry rather than being a generic catalogue fit. The cancellation kit for electronic damping ships with the coilover so the M4’s EDC control unit is taken out of the loop cleanly.

Fitment for the Bmw 4 Series F82 M4 (cancellation Kit For Electronic Damping) (2014-2020)

This kit is built for the F82 M4 coupe chassis (BM92-C), model years 2014 through 2020, in the variant that left the factory with Adaptive M / electronic damping control. The supplied cancellation kit is the specific component that distinguishes this part number from the standard F82 fitment – confirm your car has EDC before ordering.
