XYZ Racing Top Sport Coilovers — BMW 3 SERIES G20 (2WD/4WD) 4/6 CYL (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2018-2026

The G20 3 Series ships with factory adaptive dampers on most 4- and 6-cylinder variants, and any aftermarket coilover swap has to deal with that electronics layer before it deals with the road. This XYZ Racing Top Sport kit for the 2WD and 4WD G20 bundles a cancellation kit for the standard electronic damping, so the car’s fixed-rate dampers replace the OEM EDC hardware without dashboard warnings or limp modes.

Top Sport is XYZ Racing’s occasional-track-day-plus-daily-driver setup: firm enough to control the G20’s near-even front-to-rear weight split under trail braking, compliant enough that the car stays usable on a Monday commute. It suits owners who want one set of dampers for both the school run and a handful of track days a year, rather than swapping springs seasonally.

What this coilover does for your 2018-2026 BMW 3 Series G20

Stepping the spring rate up around 2kg/mm over the street-spec base, or adding 30 to 50 percent more damping force, changes how the G20 loads under direction change: body roll comes down, the outside front tyre bites earlier, and the car settles rather than pitching after a lift-off or a hard stop into a corner. On the 4- and 6-cylinder cars – whether that’s a four-pot 330i or a six-cylinder M340i – the extra control matters most through fast direction changes, where the standard adaptive dampers are tuned soft enough to let the nose float. Ride height is adjustable at each corner, so the car can be set up to match its actual weight distribution rather than a generic drop. Ground contact on rough Tarmac improves too – the damper absorbs the hit instead of passing it straight through, keeping the tyre loaded when a bump lands mid-corner.

About the Top Sport coilover

XYZ Racing’s Top Sport line is built around a damping and spring-rate step over its street-oriented siblings: roughly 30 to 50 percent more damping force, or a spring rate around 2kg/mm firmer, depending on which end of that range a given kit sits at. That extra control is aimed at absorbing the sort of hit a car takes over broken Tarmac or a kerb strike without the body pitching or the tyre losing contact – the damper does the work instead of the chassis having to. The settings themselves come out of XYZ Racing’s own track programme rather than being scaled up from a road kit, which is why the range is pitched at track day use and aggressive road driving rather than outright daily comfort. Construction follows the same coilover format as the rest of the XYZ Racing range, with damping and spring specification tuned specifically for the Top Sport tier.
