XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — BMW 3 SERIES E92 M3 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2007-2011

The E92 M3’s factory EDC was tuned for a road car wearing a race-bred badge, not for a stage car wearing number plates. Strip the electronic damping out of the equation and the S65-powered coupe becomes a very different proposition – one where a proper rally-spec damper can finally do the talking on a sealed Welsh or Scottish stage.

XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover for the E92 M3 is built for exactly that job: keeping a 4.0-litre V8 coupe planted across cambers, mid-corner ridges, and the kind of broken tarmac that arrives at 90mph with no warning. The included EDC cancellation kit deletes the factory electronic damper feedback at the loom, so the car stops throwing fault codes the moment you bin the OEM struts.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2011 Bmw 3 Series E92 M3

The S65 sits high in the nose for a normally aspirated V8, and stage-pace driving exposes the front axle’s tendency to dive on big stops into hairpins. The Tarmac Rally valving is set up to absorb that hit without packing down, then release the spring quickly enough to keep the front tyres tracking through the bump. On the rear, the damper controls the M3’s slightly nervous on-throttle attitude over compressions – the moments where the standard car wants to skip sideways across a ridge.

Across a stage day at somewhere like Walters Arena or Sweet Lamb, the difference is felt as confidence to commit earlier to a crest. The car loads, settles, and stays loaded. Mid-corner inputs – a brush of brake, a lift, a steering correction – land cleanly rather than triggering a secondary motion from the chassis.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally is a stage-derived damper engineered around one priority: absorbing repeated, hard, asymmetric impacts without losing wheel control. The valving philosophy is built from XYZ Racing’s own tarmac rally programme – shocks that have to cope with a stage car landing a crest at full chat, then immediately turning into a fourth-gear bend, with no second chance to reset.

Where a circuit coilover prioritises platform stability on a flat surface, this damper is built to suppress body motion and keep the tyre loaded over uneven pavement. The traction gain over a ribbed, patched, or freshly resurfaced section is the headline outcome – the spec sheet calls it absorbing the jolt of a big bump and increasing tyre traction, which on an M3 translates to the rear axle staying connected through Tarmac transitions that would unsettle a circuit-set car.

Because this is the cancellation-kit variant, the assembly ships with the harness adapters required to silence the E92 M3’s EDC module on installation – no aftermarket dash patch, no live fault, no limp mode on the way to scrutineering.

Fitment for the Bmw 3 Series E92 M3 (2007-2011)

This coilover is specific to the E92 M3 coupe chassis (BM67-1-C) built from 2007 through 2011, and it is the cancellation-kit variant for cars that left the factory with Electronic Damping Control. If your M3 has the EDC option from new, this is the correct part number; the harness delete is included rather than sold separately.
