XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Volkswagen GOLF R MK6 4WD φ55 (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2008-2012

The Golf R Mk6’s Haldex-driven 4WD system sends torque rearward the instant the front axle slips, which is exactly the trait a drift car wants to exploit rather than fight. XYZ Racing’s Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover is built around that behaviour, giving the rear end a controllable, repeatable break instead of a nervous, torque-managed shuffle.

This kit is for the Golf R MK6 built between 2008 and 2012 and specifically for cars running the rear-integrated modification with the electronic damping cancellation kit fitted, meaning the factory adaptive damper electronics are bypassed cleanly rather than left throwing dashboard faults. For competitive drifting, that matters as much as the spring and damper hardware itself.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2012 Volkswagen GOLF R MK6

Dropping ride height with the correct bump stroke settled changes how the Golf R MK6 loads its outside tyres mid-drift, letting the chassis hold an angle instead of snapping through it. The 3-position damping adjustment lets you firm up compression for high-speed transitions into a corner, then soften rebound so the rear axle stays planted enough to catch and hold the slide rather than skip across bumps. Because the electronic damping cancellation kit removes the car’s adaptive suspension electronics from the equation, the coilover’s own valving is what governs body control, not a computer trying to smooth things out. On a 4WD platform where front-to-rear torque split already fights understeer, that extra rear stability is what turns a Golf R MK6 from a car that resists rotation into one that can be steered on the throttle.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing designed the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover specifically around drift use, where the goal is stabilising the car’s body through fast, high-angle direction changes rather than simply minimising roll. The valving is tuned so the chassis holds its line through a slide instead of pitching, which is what lets a driver hold a wide, sustained angle rather than snatch and correct. Each corner carries 3 external damping knobs feeding small internal oil passages, a compact adjuster layout that keeps fine control available without bulky remote reservoirs. XYZ Racing notes that on circuit surfaces with real bumps, that small-passage design can produce a faint noise as oil moves through it; this is expected behaviour and not a fault, and the kit is built with circuit-track use, and the bumps that come with it, already accounted for. Ride height is adjustable independently of damping, so ride height and bump stroke can be set together for the specific track or drift line being run.

Fitment for the Volkswagen GOLF R MK6 (2008-2012)

This kit is built for the Volkswagen Golf R MK6, chassis code VO19-2-A-C, across the 2008 to 2012 production run, and is specific to the 4WD φ55 rear-integrated configuration paired with the electronic damping cancellation kit. Confirm your car carries this rear-integrated modification and the cancellation kit before ordering, as the coilover’s damping control is designed to replace the factory adaptive electronics rather than run alongside them.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
