XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Volkswagen GOLF MK6 φ50 (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2008-2012

Volkswagen fitted a good number of Mk6 Golfs with DCC adaptive damping, and that electronics package is exactly the sort of thing a serious coilover install has to work around rather than ignore. Swap in a passive damper without addressing it and you are looking at dash warnings and a control module that thinks a damper has failed. This XYZ Racing Circuit Master kit for the VO17-A-C chassis comes with the cancellation kit built in, so the electronic damping system is properly cancelled out rather than left to argue with the new hardware.

For a Mk6 built for sustained circuit lap-time work, that matters more than most spec sheets let on. Once the DCC conflict is resolved, the φ50 damper body and the Rr Integrated rear end are free to do their job lap after lap without the car second-guessing itself electronically.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2012 Volkswagen GOLF MK6

With the electronic damping properly cancelled, the Circuit Master’s 9720-way damping adjustment gives you a genuinely usable range across the Mk6’s front strut and rear integrated shock/spring assembly – not a token few clicks either side of a factory setting. The 50mm piston body handles the heat and cycle count that a Golf sees over consecutive track sessions, where PQ35-platform cars can otherwise wallow through direction changes once oil starts to work. The Rr Integrated rear geometry keeps the spring and damper working as a matched unit rather than fighting each other under load, which is where a lot of Mk6 owners feel the car settle mid-corner once they’ve gone to a proper coilover setup. Ride height is adjustable independently of preload, so you can drop the car to the stance and centre of gravity you want for circuit work without disturbing the damping curve you’ve already dialled up.

About the Circuit Master coilover

Circuit Master sits at the top of XYZ Racing’s competition-focused range, built off the same platform used across Racing Spec, Drift Spec and Tarmac Rally applications and proven on international circuits over extended testing. It’s run by XYZ racing teams worldwide, and the damper carries 9720 individual adjustment combinations across its 3 external knobs, giving a circuit driver enough range to tune compression and rebound separately rather than compromise on a single dial. The knobs work through a small-oil-hole metering design, which is deliberate – it’s what gives the damper its adjustment resolution – and on a rough surface it can produce a faint noise as oil passes through the passage. That’s a normal characteristic of the design, not a fault, and it’s the trade-off for a damper built specifically for circuit track surfaces rather than UK B-roads.

Fitment for the Volkswagen GOLF MK6 (2008-2012)

This kit is built for the VO17-A-C chassis code, covering Volkswagen Golf Mk6 models produced from 2008 to 2012, in the φ50 configuration with Rr Integrated rear construction. It includes the cancellation kit required where the car’s original electronic damping control needs to be disabled for the coilover to run correctly.
