XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Volkswagen GOLF MK6 φ50 (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2008-2012

The Golf MK6’s factory DCC electronic damping ties ride quality to a control module that has no interest in loose, low-grip surfaces – gravel, snow-packed lanes, or a wet stage road. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover strips that dependency out, with a cancellation kit built into this exact fitment so you get static, mechanically adjustable damping instead of a computer guessing at surface grip mid-corner.

This is the low-mu end of XYZ’s Pro Racing range: longer front and rear travel than the road-biased kits in the same family, aimed at cars that spend real time off tarmac. On the Golf MK6 that means keeping the wheel loaded and the chassis settled when the surface underneath it stops behaving like a circuit.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2012 Volkswagen GOLF MK6 φ50 (Modified Rr Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping)

Extended front and rear travel gives the MK6’s suspension more room to move before it runs out of stroke on a rutted gravel track or a snow-packed apex, so the wheel stays in contact with the surface instead of skipping across it. A larger internal charge of suspension oil and nitrogen gas than XYZ’s tarmac-biased kits keeps damping force consistent as the shock works hard over a long stage or a repeated snow loop, rather than fading as oil temperature climbs. Three external adjustment knobs let you set compression and rebound to suit the surface in front of you, softening off for washboard gravel or firming up for hard-packed snow without swapping parts. Because the cancellation kit replaces the Golf’s DCC control electronics with fixed resistance, the car doesn’t throw adaptive-damping warnings once the electronic dampers are gone – the ride simply behaves the way the mechanical valving is set, not the way the factory module used to.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

XYZ built the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow line around rally and rally-cross use, where grip swings from loose gravel to hard-packed snow inside the same stage. The extra stroke front and rear compared with a tarmac coilover buys a bigger buffer before the suspension tops or bottoms out over compressions and jumps. A larger internal volume of suspension oil and nitrogen gas than a standard road kit is the key spec: it gives the damper more thermal headroom, so oil temperature stays under control instead of climbing and fading through a long stage. The trade-off of the small-bore oil passage feeding all three adjustment knobs is a faint noise through big hits – XYZ class this as normal operation, not a fault, and it doesn’t affect damping performance. The result is a coilover built to take repeated hard impacts on rough, low-grip surfaces without the internals overheating.

Fitment for the Volkswagen GOLF MK6 φ50 (Modified Rr Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) (2008-2012)

This kit is coded VO17-A-C for the Golf MK6 built between 2008 and 2012, specifically the φ50-strut, Modified-Rear-Integrated variant. It’s the version built for cars that left the factory with electronically controlled DCC damping – the cancellation kit is included so the dash and driving-mode electronics don’t flag an error once the adaptive dampers are swapped for XYZ’s static units.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
