XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Nissan TEANA J31 6 CYL (Modified Rear Integrated) 2003-2008

The Teana J31’s V6 puts a good chunk of its weight over the front axle, and on loose surfaces that translates into a nose that wants to plough on turn-in while the rear steps out under trailing throttle. A gravel-stage rally coilover is built around a different problem set entirely to a road or track kit, and this is where that shows up first: the damper has to keep working through wheel travel that a tarmac car never sees.

This is the modified rear-integrated version for the J31 6-cylinder, built for drivers running this Teana in gravel-stage or rallycross events rather than on the road. It replaces the factory strut and spring assembly with a purpose-configured gravel unit designed to survive repeated high-speed compression events without the damping fading or the chassis losing composure over crest and dip sequences.

What this coilover does for your 2003-2008 Nissan Teana

The inverted tube design puts the larger diameter tube at the top of the damper body, which keeps the working seal better protected from the sand, snow, silt and stone chips a gravel stage throws at it – the exact conditions that kill a standard strut’s seals within a handful of events. Long stroke travel combined with a longer spring gives the J31’s suspension somewhere to go when it lands hard off a crest, instead of topping or bottoming the damper and unsettling the car mid-corner. That extra travel also does the job of soaking up chassis vibration transmitted through the rear-integrated mounting on rough, unsealed surfaces, which matters on a car this size and weight when it’s carrying speed into a compression. Spring rates on this Gravel Rally build are set to bear the extreme cornering loads the Teana generates through its V6-weighted front end, so the platform stays composed when you’re asking it to turn and absorb terrain change at the same time.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing’s Gravel Rally line is built specifically for rally and rallycross use, where the surface is the most punishing a competition damper will face – sand, snow, silt and loose stone all in the same event, sometimes the same stage. The inverted tube layout is a direct response to that variability, engineered to cope with each different road condition rather than being tuned for one. Stroke length and spring length are both extended beyond road-going coilover norms, giving the damper the travel to absorb chassis vibration and take repeated, aggressive hits from high-speed bouncy surfaces without losing control of the wheel. Every spring rate offered in the range has been set using data from an active Rally Racing team, so the numbers reflect what actually holds up under stage conditions rather than a desk calculation. It’s a damper built around survival and control on terrain that would overwhelm a standard tarmac-spec coilover within a stage or two.

Fitment for the Nissan Teana (2003-2008)

This kit is built for the J31-chassis Teana, 6-cylinder, in the modified rear-integrated configuration, covering model years 2003 to 2008. Confirm your Teana matches the 6-cylinder J31 spec and the rear-integrated mounting before ordering, as this is a chassis-specific gravel build rather than a universal fitment.

Built for the stages, not the showroom – configure your Teana J31’s Gravel Rally spec below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
