XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Mitsubishi 3000 GT / GTO 4WD 1992-1996

The 3000 GT / GTO’s twin-turbo AWD driveline puts a lot of hardware ahead of the front axle, and that mass makes itself known the moment the surface underneath stops being predictable. On gravel, packed snow or a loose rallycross circuit, weight transfer happens faster than the standing suspension was ever set up to manage, and the factory dampers run out of travel exactly when you need it most.

The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover kit is built around that problem. It gives the MT03 chassis the stroke and adjustment range to keep all four corners loaded and working through the kind of compressions a tarmac-only setup was never asked to survive.

What this coilover kit does for your 1992-1996 Mitsubishi 3000 GT / GTO 4WD

Extended front and rear travel is the headline change: it buys the car a bigger cushion before the suspension bottoms out over a rutted crest or a compression mid-corner, which matters enormously on a heavy AWD platform like this one. A larger reservoir of suspension oil and nitrogen gas keeps damping force consistent as the shocks heat up over a long stage or session, rather than fading once the oil gets hot. The 3-way adjustment lets you set compression and rebound separately for gravel, packed snow or a mixed-surface circuit, so the same kit can be leaned toward stability on loose stuff or sharpened up when the grip level rises. Expect the GTO to settle faster after a landing or a big compression, with less of the front-heavy pitch that catches drivers out on loose surfaces.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

This is a damper built specifically for rally and rallycross use rather than adapted from a road or circuit product. The extended front and rear travel is there to add a genuine buffer against bottoming out when the car is unsettled by ruts, jumps or compacted snow banks, keeping the chassis stable instead of skipping across the surface. XYZ Racing has enlarged the internal volume of both suspension oil and nitrogen gas compared with a standard coilover, which slows the rate at which oil temperature climbs during sustained hard use and helps the damping stay consistent lap after stage rather than fading out. The 3 external adjustment knobs work through a deliberately small oil-hole design; on big hits you may hear a faint noise as oil passes through that restricted passage, which is a normal characteristic of this valving rather than a fault. It’s a setup built for circuit and stage work where the surface itself, not just the tarmac grip, is the variable you’re fighting.

Fitment for the Mitsubishi 3000 GT / GTO (1992-1996)

Built for the MT03-chassis Mitsubishi 3000 GT / GTO 4WD produced between 1992 and 1996. This kit is specified for the all-wheel-drive variant of the chassis, matching the extra weight and driveline layout that AWD versions of the 3000 GT / GTO carry over the front-wheel-drive model.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
