XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz E CLASS COUPE C207 6 CYL (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2009-2017

The C207 E Class Coupe’s six-cylinder cars left the factory on electronically controlled damping, tuned for a quiet motorway ride rather than holding a contact patch down over a cambered stage. This Tarmac Rally coilover kit includes the cancellation hardware needed to remove that electronic damping control entirely and replace it with a fixed mechanical setup the car’s ECU no longer tries to override.

For a heavy, front-engined Mercedes Benz E Class Coupe running sealed-stage tarmac events, that matters more than outright spring rate. Once the electronic damper signal is cancelled, the car stops hunting for a comfort setting mid-stage and instead responds the same way corner after corner, which is exactly what a co-driver calling pace notes needs.

What this coilover does for your 2009-2017 Mercedes Benz E Class Coupe

Removing the Agility Control-style adaptive damping and fitting fixed-rate XYZ Racing dampers gives this E Class Coupe a much shorter, more predictable weight transfer window under braking into a junction or hairpin. The car’s mass no longer gets managed by a damper that’s constantly recalculating firmness, so the front axle loads up consistently every time you turn in, which is what lets a driver commit on a stage they’ve only seen once. Ride height is also fully adjustable independent of spring preload, so the coupe’s low factory stance can be raised for ground clearance on rough tarmac without touching the spring rate you’ve chosen for compression control. Tyre contact through square-edged bumps and mid-corner ruts improves too, because the damper is no longer softening off electronically at the exact moment you need it to control body movement.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built the Tarmac Rally line specifically to cope with uneven, broken road surfaces at speed, where a big compression event over a crest or pothole needs to be absorbed without the chassis kicking sideways. The valving is set to soak up large hits cleanly, keeping the body settled and the tyre loaded rather than skipping, which is the difference between a car that tracks straight out of a bump and one that steps wide. Every damping setting in this range comes directly from XYZ Racing’s own tarmac rally programme, carried over rather than adapted from a circuit-only baseline. Construction is monotube, giving consistent damping force even after repeated hard compressions on a long stage rather than fading as oil temperature climbs.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz E Class Coupe (2009-2017)

This kit is built for the C207-chassis Mercedes Benz E Class Coupe, six-cylinder variants, covering the 2009 to 2017 production run. It’s specified with the electronic damping cancellation kit required on cars originally fitted with adaptive suspension control, so the mechanical Tarmac Rally dampers run without the factory ECU attempting to intervene.
