XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz E CLASS COUPE C207 6 CYL (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2009-2017

The C207 E-Class Coupe’s factory Airmatic and Agility Control electronic damping was tuned for a comfortable, wafting six-cylinder grand tourer, not repeated hot laps. XYZ Racing’s Racing Spec coilover, paired with the cancellation kit needed to delete that electronic damping system, strips away the compromise and replaces it with a fixed-rate, track-focused platform.

For a car this size and weight to hold a line through fast direction changes, the suspension needs to control body movement mechanically rather than through a computer reacting to sensors. That’s the job here: a damper built for time-attack and circuit driving on a chassis that was never sold with that intention from the factory.

What this coilover does for your 2009-2017 Mercedes Benz E CLASS COUPE

Deleting the electronic damping in favour of a fixed racing damper means the front and rear axles respond the same way every time you turn in, brake, or load the outside tyre – no controller smoothing out inputs or hunting for a setting mid-corner. On a six-cylinder C207, that translates into sharper turn-in and a rear end that stays settled under trail-braking instead of floating on its standard air-sprung compliance. Ride height drops and roll resistance increases, which keeps the coupe’s nose planted through direction changes at speed rather than allowing the body to lean and load the outer contact patch progressively. Because the cancellation kit removes the factory electronics from the equation entirely, there’s no dashboard warning or degraded ride-height function fighting the new setup – the car simply runs as a conventional, mechanically-adjustable platform. The net result is a heavy coupe that changes direction and takes a kerb like a car built specifically for a circuit, not a company-car cruiser wearing stiffer springs.

About the Racing Spec coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Racing Spec line directly from its involvement in circuit competition, including WTCC, so the damping settings are drawn from actual race data rather than a generic fast-road tune. It’s built for serious track and time-attack use, where consistency lap after the car has heated up and settled matters more than outright comfort. For cars carrying factory or aftermarket performance modifications beyond the standard spec – bigger brakes, aero, weight changes – XYZ Racing can build a custom damper to suit, provided the buyer supplies details of the car’s upgrades and the circuit it will run. That bespoke option extends to genuinely aggressive builds, up to and including cars prepared to a factory racing or A-class competition specification. On the C207 specifically, that custom-build route is worth knowing about given how few coupes of this size run at this level of dedicated track intent – most owners at this end of the spectrum are building something particular to their car and their circuit, not buying off a shelf.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz E CLASS COUPE C207 6 CYL (2009-2017)

This kit is built for the C207-chassis E-Class Coupe with the six-cylinder engine, covering the 2009 to 2017 production run. Because this variant retains factory electronic damping, the fitment includes the cancellation kit required to remove that system before the Racing Spec coilover can be installed. Confirm your car is the 6-cylinder C207 coupe rather than a 4-cylinder or saloon/estate variant before ordering.
