XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz A CLASS W176 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2012-2018

The W176 A-Class carries its turbocharged four-cylinder up front and drives through the front wheels on every UK-market variant short of the 4matic A45, so a hard launch is as much about controlling instant weight transfer as it is about outright horsepower. XYZ Racing’s Drag Racing coilover kit for the A-Class is built to answer that exact problem, shifting front-to-rear load balance the moment the clutch drops or launch control releases.

Where a Circuit Master or Top Sport kit is tuned around mid-corner body control, this is a straight-line tool. Independently adjustable ride height and damping at each corner let you load the drive wheels for grip off the line, then hold that platform stable through the run.

What this coilover does for your 2012-2018 Mercedes Benz A Class

Fitted to your A-Class, the kit’s front-to-rear weight bias adjustment converts more of your launch power into forward drive instead of wheelspin, which matters on a chassis that is already nose-heavy with the engine sat over the front axle. Ride height adjustment at each corner lets you lower the front for a better weight transfer window and load the rear slightly before you leave the line. Independent damping control keeps the chassis settled once the initial hit has passed, rather than letting the car unsettle as speed builds down the strip. For a road car that spends weekends at the strip, that same adjustability lets you back the setup off for the drive home without swapping parts.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Drag Racing coilover for 0-400 metre straight-line runs, and the design works across front-, rear- and four-wheel-drive platforms rather than a single drivetrain layout. The core idea is weight transfer on demand: as the car launches, the kit’s height and damping settings let the chassis shift load onto the driven wheels immediately, rather than waiting for normal suspension travel to catch up. That extra compression at the contact patch is what cuts the wheelspin and rotational lag most launches lose time to, turning engine output into forward motion earlier in the run. Further up the speed range, the same setup keeps the chassis flat and predictable so the car does not become nervous as closing speed increases. It is a single-purpose tool built around the launch and the pass, not a multi-role fast-road kit.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz A Class W176 (Modified Rr Integrated) (2012-2018)

This kit is engineered for the W176-generation Mercedes Benz A-Class built between 2012 and 2018, covering the Modified Rr Integrated rear-end specification. Confirm your car matches the W176 chassis code and the 2012-2018 production window before ordering, as suspension geometry differs across body variants and the facelift within this run.

This is a launch-specific setup, not a one-size suspension – pick your ride height and damping spec for the A-Class below and build yours to match your driveline and event.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.
