XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — BMW 6 SERIES E63 6 CYL 2004-2010

The E63 6 Series carries its 3.0-litre straight six over a long, E60-derived wheelbase and close to two tonnes of grand tourer bodywork, so the moment the surface underfoot stops being consistent tarmac, that mass and length start working against the standard dampers. Loose gravel, packed snow and rutted stage roads load the axles in ways a factory coupe suspension was never asked to handle, and the standard-length struts run out of travel exactly when you need them most.

The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is built around that problem rather than around a circuit lap. Extended front and rear travel keeps the wheels working through compressions and crests instead of bottoming out, which is the difference between a car that tracks straight over broken ground and one that skips sideways every time the surface changes.

What this coilover does for your 2004-2010 BMW 6 Series E63 6 CYL

Fitted to a 2004-2010 6 Series, the longer-travel damper gives the big coupe a genuine buffer zone front and rear, so ruts and washboard surfaces get absorbed rather than transmitted straight into the chassis. The increased suspension oil and nitrogen gas volume matters specifically on a heavy car like the E63, where sustained hard driving generates more heat through the damper than a lighter chassis would produce, and a shock that overheats loses control of the wheel exactly when grip is already at a premium. The 3-way adjustment gives you a way to firm up or soften the compression and rebound response as conditions shift from packed snow to loose gravel to hard-pack, without swapping hardware. On a car this size, that adjustability is what keeps the nose planted under braking into a loose corner instead of pushing wide.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

This is a damper built for rally and rallycross use rather than sealed-surface track days. The extended travel at both ends creates a larger buffer against sudden compressions, which keeps the car settled when the surface drops away without warning. XYZ Racing has increased the internal suspension oil and nitrogen gas capacity specifically to manage heat build-up during long, hard stints, preventing the oil temperature spikes that cause damping to fade on a standard-volume shock. Each unit uses a 3-knob adjustment layout with a deliberately small internal oil passage; over large bumps this can produce a faint noise as oil moves through that restriction, which is a normal characteristic of the design rather than a fault. It is engineered for repeated abuse on rough, ungripped surfaces where a road-going shock would give up.

Fitment for the BMW 6 Series E63 (2004-2010)

This coilover is built for the E63-chassis 6 Series, 6-cylinder engine variant, covering the 2004 to 2010 model years. Confirm your car sits within that build range before ordering, as suspension geometry and mounting points changed across the E63’s production run.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
