XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW 3 SERIES F31 4/6 CYL (excl. M-Technik. xDrive & EDC) 2011-2026

The F31 Touring carries more metal behind the rear axle than the saloon it shares a platform with, and that extra estate-body mass changes how the tail behaves once you’ve broken traction. Weight comes round predictably on initiation but takes more correction to catch cleanly, which is exactly the kind of chassis behaviour a drift-specific coilover is built to manage rather than fight.

XYZ Racing’s Drift Spec coilover is built for competitive drifting, not fast-road comfort or circuit lap times. On a non-M-Technik, RWD, non-EDC F31 4/6 cylinder – a car without adaptive dampers to defeat or all-wheel-drive traction to work around – the full coilover swap goes in clean, and every millimetre of the drop and every click of adjustment is doing the job the previous factory strut only did half of.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2026 Bmw 3 Series F31 4/6 CYL (excl. M-Technik. xDrive & EDC)

Dropping ride height on the F31 with a proper bump stroke calculation – rather than just winding a spring perch down – lowers the car’s centre of gravity while keeping enough suspension travel to load the outside tyre through a committed slide instead of bottoming out. That matters on this chassis specifically, because the Touring’s longer rear overhang wants to keep swinging after the front has already changed direction; a controlled, planted rear end lets you hold an angle instead of chasing it. Stiffer, drift-tuned damping also keeps the rear subframe and diff from shifting under the lateral loads a sustained slide puts through them, so the car’s response to steering and throttle stays consistent from entry to exit rather than degrading lap after lap of practice. For a 4/6 cylinder F31 without xDrive to mask chassis behaviour, that consistency is what turns a car that’s merely sideways into one that’s actually controllable.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built the Drift Spec line around one job: keeping the body of the car settled and predictable while it’s being driven sideways at speed, so the driver can hold a clean, repeatable angle instead of correcting a car that’s shifting underneath them mid-slide. That starts with a construction tuned to resist the body roll and weight transfer that high-angle, high-speed cornering puts through a chassis, holding the platform flatter than a standard strut would through the same load. The height-adjustable design is set up around a proper bump stroke rather than a simple lowered ride height, so travel is preserved exactly where a drift car needs it – deep into a slide, under load, not just sat static at kerb height. The result is a suspension setup that owners can drop for stance and then drive hard immediately, without the vague, wallowy transition that comes from a coilover that’s only been engineered for looks. For the F31’s estate-body proportions specifically, that translates into a rear end that stays composed under the extra leverage the longer wheelbase puts through it.

Fitment for the Bmw 3 Series F31 4/6 CYL (excl. M-Technik. xDrive & EDC) (2011-2026)

Built for the F31-chassis BMW 3 Series Touring across the 2011-2026 range, covering 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder RWD cars. This spec excludes M-Technik, xDrive and EDC-equipped variants – confirm your car sits outside those trims before ordering, as the adaptive damping and all-wheel-drive hardware on those versions changes the suspension mounting and electronics involved.

What buyers also search for

  • Bmw F31 3 Series drift coilover setup for competition angle and control
  • Bmw 3 Series Touring RWD suspension for sideways driving, not just lowering
  • F31 non-xDrive coilover kit that keeps rear subframe loading in check
  • Bmw 3 Series drift spec ride height with proper bump stroke calculation

Spec your F31’s Drift Spec kit against the exact chassis and trim above, then configure yours below.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
