XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — BMW 2 SERIES G87 M2 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2023-2026

The G87 M2’s rear end runs a wide track on a stiff aluminium subframe, and on a sealed rally stage that geometry meets surfaces nothing like a circuit kerb – crests, patched repairs and mid-corner compressions that unsettle a standard adaptive damper within a handful of corners. XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover replaces that setup with a damper calibrated specifically for this abuse: repeated big hits without the rear axle skipping sideways.

A car built around the S58’s twin-turbo shove and a chassis that already flatters a fast road driver faces a different question on a stage – not outright grip on a clean surface, but control when the tarmac throws a compression at the rear wheel mid-corner. This kit answers that on the BM128-1 rear end fitted to the modified rear-integrated variant of the 2023-2026 M2.

What this coilover does for your 2023-2026 BMW 2 Series G87 M2

Stage tarmac is rarely flat, and the biggest threat to a clean run is the rear axle skipping over a bump mid-corner. This kit’s damping is set to absorb that jolt through the shock rather than through the tyre losing contact with the road, so the contact patch stays loaded and traction holds through compressions and crests instead of unloading and re-loading. That keeps the M2’s wide rear track doing its job – putting the S58’s torque down cleanly out of a rough exit – rather than fighting a car still settling from the last hit. The ride height and damping curve are set from XYZ’s own tarmac rally programme rather than road-biased defaults, so the car reacts the same way in stage six as it did in stage one, not just on the smoothest opening kilometre.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally is XYZ Racing’s damper for sealed-stage events run on public tarmac rather than a resurfaced circuit. Where a road coilover is tuned to isolate a smooth trip to the shops, this one is built around uneven, patched, cambered tarmac and the big hits that come with it: the valving is set to soak up a hard compression without transmitting the full jolt through the body shell, and to keep the tyre pressed into the road surface rather than skipping clear of it. That control over body movement is what keeps the car settled through a run of rough corners rather than pitching from one hit to the next. The damping curve itself isn’t a generic road-going compromise – it’s carried over directly from XYZ’s own tarmac rally experience, set on actual stage surfaces rather than derived on a smooth test track.

Fitment for the BMW 2 Series G87 M2 (2023-2026)

This kit is built for the BM128-1 chassis code covering the G87-generation M2 from 2023 to 2026, specifically the modified rear-integrated suspension variant rather than the standard factory rear-subframe mounting. Confirm your car matches this rear-end specification before ordering, as the untouched G87 M2 rear mounting is not the same fitment.
