XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — BMW 2 SERIES G87 M2 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2023-2026

The G87 M2’s factory adaptive dampers are calibrated for smooth asphalt, and that calibration falls apart the moment a wheel drops into a rutted gravel crest. Stage surfaces throw sudden, repeated vertical spikes at a chassis that was never asked to survive them, and a road-biased damper simply runs out of usable stroke and starts topping out or bottoming through the travel. The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover is built around that specific failure mode rather than around lap-time chasing.

This kit is set up for the M2’s Modified Rr Integrated rear end, meaning the rear damper and spring package is matched to a car that has already had its rear subframe and arm mounting reworked for stage use rather than left in factory road trim. On a heavy, torque-rich RWD platform like the G87, that rear-end integration matters more than usual, because uncontrolled rear travel on loose surfaces is what turns a fast corner entry into a snap.

What this coilover does for your 2023-2026 BMW 2 Series G87 M2 (modified Rr Integrated)

Fitted to a gravel-prepped G87 M2, the biggest change owners will feel is that the car stops running out of suspension on repeated hits. The long-stroke damper and matched long spring soak up chassis vibration from washboard and stutter bumps instead of transmitting it straight into the rear axle, which keeps the tyre in contact with loose ground for longer through a corner. Because the inverted-tube construction is built to keep working as the shock body heats up over a stage, damping force stays more consistent from the first kilometre to the last rather than fading as oil temperature climbs. On a car putting S58 turbo torque through the rear wheels, that consistency is what stops the rear stepping out unpredictably when the surface changes from hardpack to loose silt mid-corner.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing developed this damper specifically for rally and rallycross work, where road conditions are more aggressive and more variable than anything a circuit throws up, and where the shock absorber effectively becomes the single most load-bearing component on the car. The inverted-tube layout was chosen to cope with the different demands of sandstone, snow and silt within the same event, rather than being tuned around one surface type. Long internal stroke paired with a proportionally long spring lets the damper absorb chassis vibration and the aggressive impacts of a high-speed, bouncy stage road, while still controlling the extreme lateral G-force generated when the car turns in on loose ground. Every spring rate offered in this range has been set and validated by an active rally racing team rather than derived on a rig alone, so the base rates reflect what has actually worked under stage conditions.

Fitment for the BMW 2 Series G87 M2 (Modified Rr Integrated) (2023-2026)

This kit is built for the G87-chassis 2 Series M2, chassis code BM128-1, covering model years 2023 to 2026. It is specced for the Modified Rr Integrated rear configuration, so it assumes the car’s rear end has already been set up to accept this rear mounting arrangement rather than a standard road-going rear subframe.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front
