The A3 8V’s multi-link rear axle – fitted only to the quattro and higher-output derivatives, not the torsion-beam base cars – gives this chassis genuine independent rear geometry. That is exactly what matters when the surface drops away mid-corner on a gravel stage or breaks loose under snow. XYZ Racing’s Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is built around that fact: front and rear travel is extended well beyond a road-spec coilover so the wheel stays loaded and hunting for grip instead of unloading the instant the road gets rough.
This kit is supplied with a cancellation kit for the factory electronic damping system. The 8V’s OEM adaptive dampers have no business being active on a rally stage, so once this coilover is fitted the car runs entirely on its own valving, with no control module left to fight the driver’s inputs.
What this coilover does for your 2012-2020 Audi A3
Extended suspension oil and nitrogen gas volume is the headline change here, and it is a practical one: on long stages or repeated snow-covered runs, dampers heat up fast, and a bigger reservoir keeps that oil working rather than fading after twenty minutes of hard use. The longer-travel valving front and rear means the multi-link rear on quattro and higher-output A3 8V models can absorb a rutted farm track or a compressed snowbank without bottoming out and unsettling the car. Three external adjustment knobs let you retune the damping between a fast gravel stage, a slower snow event, or a bumpy circuit without swapping hardware. Because the electronic damping is cancelled outright rather than worked around in software, the response you dial in at the knob is the response you get, every time.
About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover
This is XYZ Racing’s dedicated rally and rallycross damper, engineered first for events where the surface itself is the obstacle. The extra front and rear travel exists to give the car a bigger buffer against sudden compression – a jump landing, a washed-out rut, a compacted snow bank – without the suspension running out of stroke. Internally, the oil and nitrogen gas capacity is increased over a standard road coilover specifically to manage heat: extended stage running or back-to-back snow runs push damper oil temperature hard, and this design is built to keep working rather than fade. The three adjustment knobs use a small oil-hole metering design, which under heavy bump loading can produce a faint noise as oil passes through the narrow passage – that is the valving doing its job, not a fault. Between the extended travel and the oil/gas volume increase, this damper is equally at home on the rutted stages it was designed for and on a bumpy circuit surface where a conventional track coilover would run out of compliance.
Fitment for the Audi A3 (2012-2020)
Fits the Audi A3 8V, chassis code AU12-6-C, built 2012 to 2020, specifically the Φ55 rear multi-link suspension variants – the quattro and higher-output cars, not the torsion-beam FWD models. A cancellation kit for the factory electronic damping is included, required because the 8V’s OEM adaptive dampers must be disabled before this manually adjustable coilover can control the car.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
Top mounts included with your kit
Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.
Front
Pillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
Hardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.
Rear
IronIRONIron upper mount — a heavy-duty housing built to take sustained load where a stronger top mount is required.
