The 8V Sportback’s φ55 rear end is the multi-link version of this platform, not the torsion beam fitted to the lower-spec cars, and that independent rear geometry is exactly what a circuit-focused coilover can exploit. Where the beam-axle A3 just follows the front, this chassis lets you set the rear corners to work independently under trail-braking and mid-corner load, which is where lap time actually gets made.
The Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s dedicated sustained-lap-time kit, built for drivers doing repeat sessions rather than a single fast road blast. On a Sportback with this rear-end spec, that means a kit engineered to hold its settings and its ride height through a full track day, not just the out-lap.
What this coilover does for your 2012-2020 Audi A3
Fitted to the multi-link rear, this kit lets you tune front and rear independently, so you can dial out the nose-heavy understeer the A3’s MQB-derived front end tends toward under power without upsetting rear stability on corner entry. The 9720-way adjustment range on offer means damping can be set hard enough for kerb-riding and slow-speed direction changes on a technical circuit without turning the car into a pogo stick on the straights. Ride height drop firms up the roll centre and sharpens turn-in, useful on an A3 Sportback where body control is the limiting factor once you’re pushing on a track surface rather than a British B-road. Because the rear geometry here is independent rather than beam-axle, the adjustment you make actually stays local to that corner instead of bleeding into the other side of the car.
About the Circuit Master coilover
XYZ Racing built the Circuit Master specifically for repeated laps on a circuit surface rather than road use, and it’s the damper the brand’s own racing teams run competitively worldwide. The headline figure is 9720 available combinations across the damper’s adjustment range, controlled through three separate knobs rather than a single dial, so compression and rebound behaviour can be split apart instead of moving together. That level of separation is what circuit driving actually needs – a kerb strike wants a different response to mid-corner load transfer, and a single-knob damper can’t tell the two apart. The trade-off of the small-orifice valving used to get that resolution of adjustment is a faint noise over sharp bumps as oil passes through the narrow channel; that’s the design working as intended, not a fault, and it’s the kind of characteristic a track-only damper is allowed to have that a daily-driven set-up wouldn’t be.
Fitment for the Audi A3 Sportback (2012-2020)
This kit is built for the 8V-generation A3 Sportback fitted with the φ55 rear multi-link suspension – the Modified Rr Integrated configuration, not the standard torsion-beam rear used on lower-spec cars in the same generation. Confirm your car uses the independent rear before ordering, as the damper and mount geometry differ from the beam-axle version. Covers the 2012 to 2020 production span of this chassis and rear-suspension combination.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
Top mounts included with your kit
Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.
Front
Pillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
Hardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.
Rear
IronIRONIron upper mount — a heavy-duty housing built to take sustained load where a stronger top mount is required.
