XYZ Racing Pro Rally Coilovers — Audi A3 SPORTBACK 8V φ50 (Rear Multi-Link Suspension) Modified Rear Integrated 2012-2020

Loose-surface rally stages ask a different question of an A3 Sportback’s rear axle than any circuit ever will: sustained wheel travel over broken ground, compression spikes off crests and yumps, and a rear end that has to stay planted through direction changes that arrive without warning. The multi-link rear on this 8V-generation A3 (the quattro-spec cars, not the torsion-beam front-drive versions) already gives the geometry to work with – this Pro Rally kit is built to exploit it.

This is the Modified Rr Integrated version, meaning the rear mounting is re-engineered into the bodyshell rather than bolted through the stock chassis points – the professional-fit approach XYZ Racing uses when a car has already been prepared for competition, as opposed to the amateur-type kit that drops straight onto an unmodified shell. For an Audi A3 Sportback entering top-flight rally competition, that distinction is the difference between a suspension that survives one event and one built to take repeated stage abuse.

What this coilover does for your 2012-2020 Audi A3 Sportback

Expect noticeably longer, better-controlled wheel travel at both ends, which is what keeps the Sportback’s contact patches loaded when a stage surface changes from hardpack to gravel to standing water inside one corner. The 50mm-body (φ50) dampers give the shock a larger oil volume than a standard road-going strut, which matters when the rear axle is cycling constantly rather than occasionally – heat and fade resistance over a long stage or a full rally day depend on that reserve. Ride height and corner-weighting are independently adjustable, so the car can be set up nose-heavy or balanced depending on the gravel or snow spec you’re running, and the integrated rear mounting keeps the geometry consistent instead of loading up the original subframe points the way a bolt-in kit would.

About the Pro Rally coilover

XYZ Racing builds its rally-specification suspension in two distinct configurations. The first bolts directly to the original chassis mounting points – a quicker, amateur-level install for cars that haven’t been structurally modified. The second, supplied here, is fitted after the rear of the car has been modified to accept an integrated mount, which is the route XYZ Racing’s professional customers take when the car is already built for serious competition rather than club-level events. Both share the same Pro Rally damper and spring architecture, engineered specifically for gravel and snow stages rather than tarmac, but the integrated-mount version is the one built to hold its settings under the sustained loading a full rally campaign puts through the rear axle.

Fitment for the Audi A3 Sportback (2012-2020)

Fits the 8V-generation Audi A3 Sportback, chassis code AU12-7, across the full 2012-2020 production run, specifically the multi-link rear-suspension variant. This is the Modified Rr Integrated fitment – confirm your car’s rear end has already been prepared for the integrated mount before ordering, as this kit is not interchangeable with the standard bolt-in Pro Rally fitment for the same chassis.
