XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Toyota WISH (TYPE 1) 2009-2017

The Toyota WISH Type 1’s front-wheel-drive MPV architecture was never conceived with competitive motorsport in mind – yet in rally cross and gravel-stage competition, the extended wheelbase and raised OEM ride height give it a different set of starting parameters than a low-slung hatchback. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover kit takes that starting point seriously.

On unpredictable surfaces, travel length and thermal resilience matter more than outright spring stiffness, and the OEM dampers on the 2009-2017 WISH were calibrated entirely for Kanto suburban school runs and family motorway miles – not sustained competition stages. This kit addresses both limitations directly.

What this coilover does for your 2009-2017 Toyota WISH (TYPE 1)

Increased front and rear travel extends the buffer distance between the suspension’s limits and the bodywork, keeping the WISH planted on loose, rutted, or snow-covered stages where a short-travel damper would bottom or skip. The enlarged damper body carries more suspension oil and nitrogen gas than standard, which prevents the heat-related fade that builds over repeated runs or sustained gravel use. Three independent adjustment knobs give the driver meaningful control over damping character – a necessary feature when surface conditions change between stages or across a day’s competition. For a car whose factory suspension was calibrated for comfort above all else, the change in handling precision and surface compliance is substantial.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow

Designed primarily for rally and rally cross use, the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover’s key engineering distinction over road-focused units is greater available travel at both axles. Longer stroke absorbs the high-amplitude impacts of gravel, snow-covered tarmac, and broken surfaces without resorting to excessively stiff spring rates – which would simply skip across rough terrain rather than track it. The expanded oil and nitrogen gas volume is the other critical feature: it increases the damper’s capacity to maintain consistent resistance over prolonged competition use, preventing shock oil from overheating and losing its properties during extended runs. The three-knob adjustment system operates through a small oil passage, which means a faint noise is audible under large impacts – this is a known characteristic of the design, not a defect. The kit is built for competition environments; road surface irregularities are not its reference condition.

Fitment for the Toyota WISH (TYPE 1) (2009-2017)

This kit is built for the Toyota WISH Type 1 (chassis code TO61), covering the full 2009-2017 production span of the second-generation WISH. Confirm your build year falls within that range before ordering – the Type 1 designation is specific and differs from earlier WISH variants.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
