XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Ford PROBE 1993-1997

The FO17 Probe left the factory on soft, long-legged damping built for relaxed cruising, which is exactly the wrong starting point once the surface turns to gravel or packed snow. Ford’s second-generation coupe shared its underpinnings with the Mazda GE platform, and that front-driven layout pushes weight over the nose and wants to wash wide the moment grip drops away.

The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is built for that loose-surface brief. Where a road or circuit kit chases low ride height and tight body control, this one keeps the long suspension travel a rally stage or a snow-covered special demands, so the Probe stays settled while the wheels work through ruts, crests and compressions instead of smooth tarmac.

What this coilover does for your 1993-1997 Ford Probe

Longer front and rear travel is the change you feel first: the car soaks up a bad landing or a deep rut without slamming into the bump stops, which keeps the driven front wheels planted and the nose pointed where you put it. The larger oil and nitrogen gas volume inside each damper resists fade, so the Probe holds its composure through a long run rather than going vague as the shocks heat up. The three-way adjustment lets you set the kit firm for hard-packed gravel or softer for loose snow, and the increased buffer distance gives you a margin when a jump or a hidden crest loads the suspension hard.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

This is XYZ Racing’s loose-surface damper, developed for rally and rallycross use rather than smooth circuit work. The defining feature is travel: both the front and rear units run a longer stroke and a bigger buffer distance, which keeps the car stable when the road gives way beneath it. Each damper carries an increased volume of shock oil and nitrogen gas, a deliberate choice to fight heat build-up and stop the oil cooking after sustained punishment. Adjustment runs through three separate knobs, and the build uses a small oil-hole passage – over big hits the fluid is forced through that narrow passage and can produce a faint noise, which is normal for this construction and not a fault. It is a coilover engineered to be abused on rough ground and keep working.

Fitment for the Ford Probe (1993-1997)

This kit is built for the FO17-chassis Ford Probe across the 1993 to 1997 model years. Confirm your car matches that chassis code and year span before ordering, and check your spec against the configurator so the front and rear units are right for your Probe.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
