XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Volkswagen SHARAN 7N 2010-2022

Getting a Sharan 7N consistently sideways is a project that starts with managing what the chassis presents: close to two tonnes of high-riding family hauler, front-driven in standard spec, with a long wheelbase and a centre of gravity pitched well above anything you would choose if designing a drift platform from scratch. The XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover kit for the Volkswagen Sharan 7N addresses the root of that problem – dropping the ride height to bring the CoG down, and recalibrating the bump stroke to make body stabilisation during high-speed rotation something the car assists rather than fights.

Where most Sharan 7N modifications chase motorway refinement or passenger comfort, the Drift Spec line is unambiguous about its intent: this is a competition coilover, built from the ground up for drivers taking the 7N into an actual drift event.

What this coilover does for your 2010-2022 Volkswagen SHARAN 7N

Installing the Drift Spec on the Sharan 7N changes how the car’s mass works in your favour. The reduced ride height brings the centre of gravity closer to the road, cutting the pendulum-effect body roll that the 7N’s tall MPV architecture produces under hard lateral loads. The bump stroke calibration is where the character of this kit becomes clear: the compression response has been tuned specifically to stabilise the body mid-rotation rather than allowing the chassis to pitch and recover unpredictably through a sustained angle. Consistent suspension feedback is what lets a driver hold a drift line over distance, and on a platform this heavy, that predictability matters considerably more than it would on a lighter machine.

About the Drift Spec coilover

The Drift Spec is XYZ Racing’s competition-only coilover line, built from scratch for drift racing rather than adapted from a road or fast-track product. Its engineering centres on two measurable outcomes: stabilising the vehicle body during high-speed directional changes, and creating the geometry needed to reach and hold a controlled angle in competition conditions. Ride height reduction and bump stroke calibration are the core variables in the Drift Spec design, and XYZ Racing’s position is that the two must be configured in relationship with each other – not independently – to unlock the level of drift control the kit is designed for. Set the ride height correctly on the Sharan 7N and match the bump stroke to that setting, and the car’s handling transitions from a high-CoG family hauler working against the driver to a setup that actively supports body stabilisation mid-rotation.

Fitment for the Volkswagen SHARAN 7N (2010-2022)

This coilover kit is dimensioned for the Volkswagen Sharan 7N chassis, covering the full production run from 2010 through 2022. The 7N chassis code identifies the second-generation Sharan platform; if your car predates 2010 or falls outside this window, this kit is not the correct fitment. Check your build plate for the chassis designation before ordering.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
