XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Volkswagen SHARAN 7N 2010-2022

A seven-seat MPV on a circuit is a deliberate choice, and the 7N Sharan makes it a demanding one. Its height, kerb weight, and long wheelbase generate roll characteristics that overwhelm standard dampers within a lap or two – and coilover kits calibrated for lighter, lower cars do the same job badly. The Racing Spec addresses the Sharan 7N on its own terms: suspension with settings derived directly from WTCC race event participation, not from a general-purpose touring car template.

The 7N’s MacPherson-strut front and multi-link rear suspension can be made to work on circuit, but they need damping rates and spring stiffness matched to the car’s actual mass and centre of gravity. That is precisely what the Racing Spec is for.

What this coilover does for your 2010-2022 Volkswagen SHARAN 7N

The most immediate change is body roll reduction. A Sharan at track pace generates significant lateral load transfer through its tall body, and the Racing Spec’s damper calibration is matched to that mass rather than grafted from a lighter Group hatchback. Dropping the ride height lowers the centre of gravity – the 7N needs this more than most vehicles in the VW Group catalogue – and directly cuts the roll moment that makes the standard suspension feel vague at corner entry. On the front axle, which carries the combined weight of engine, gearbox, and a transversely mounted drivetrain, increased spring stiffness improves directional response under trail-braking. At the rear, the multi-link geometry can exploit firmer damping to keep load on the outside tyre through sustained corners where the 7N’s standard setup runs wide.

About the Racing Spec coilover

The Racing Spec is built specifically for circuit and time-attack use, and the distinction matters: its calibration comes from direct participation in WTCC racing events, not from extrapolated road car data. For a standard or lightly modified Sharan 7N, that means a suspension ready to run with race-sourced damper settings from the first session. The range also extends into genuinely bespoke territory – for heavily modified builds, cars with drivetrain or braking upgrades that push beyond the standard catalogue, or where a particular circuit layout demands a specific tune, custom-made shock absorbers are available. The process is direct: provide details on every modification and the circuit you intend to run, and XYZ Racing engineers the damper to match. This is an engineering conversation, not a drop-down option.

Fitment for the Volkswagen SHARAN 7N (2010-2022)

This kit is designed for the Volkswagen Sharan 7N platform across the full 2010 to 2022 production run. The 7N replaced the earlier 7M generation in 2010 with a substantially different suspension architecture, so confirm the chassis code before ordering – the two generations are not interchangeable.

Racing Spec damper is specially made for track race, and all settings have been obtained from direct participation in racing event such as WTCC. In some circumstances, particular custom-made shock absorbers are available for those cars that have aggressive upgrades like factory’s racing vehicles or A-class racing cars etc…You may provide us with detailed info on all upgraded parts in your car and what circuit you will run, and we are able to make custom shock absorbers for your personal car.
