XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Toyota MR2 W10 1984-1986

The W10 MR2 carries its engine amidships and its mass low and central, which is exactly what makes the early car dart into a turn and then snap into lift-off rotation when the rear is asked to do too much. The Circuit Master coilover exists to take command of that behaviour on circuit, where the same low polar moment that makes the MR2 W10 feel nervous on the road becomes a genuine weapon once the platform is properly controlled. This is the sharp end of the XYZ Racing range – the same base hardware used for their Racing Spec, Drift Spec and Tarmac Rally builds.

Where a fast-road kit asks you to split the difference, the Circuit Master is built for sustained lap-time work. It is the coilover you fit to a 1984-1986 Toyota MR2 W10 that lives on track, not the one you fit for a softer everyday commute.

What this coilover does for your 1984-1986 Toyota MR2 W10

Bring the body under control and the W10’s twitchiness starts to read as agility rather than anxiety. With damping held flat through a corner, the rear axle stops loading and unloading abruptly, so the lift-off rotation you can already provoke becomes something you meter rather than fear. The three independent adjustment knobs let you separate low-speed body control from high-speed compliance, so you can plant the nose for turn-in without the car skating over kerbs. Ride-height adjustment drops the centre of gravity on a chassis that was light to begin with, sharpening the change of direction the MR2 trades on. The payoff is a car that holds its attitude under braking and through the long, loaded corners where the standard setup simply runs out of support.

About the Circuit Master coilover

The Circuit Master is the most serious damper XYZ Racing builds, developed and proven by their race teams across international circuits rather than tuned on the road. Its headline figure is 9720 distinct adjustment combinations, set through three separate knobs that split rebound, low-speed and high-speed compression so the car can be set corner by corner. That breadth of adjustment is the whole point: it is what lets one platform underpin their Racing Spec, Drift Spec and Tarmac Rally programmes. The three-knob valving uses a small oil-passage design, and over large bumps the oil moving through that narrow passage can produce a faint noise – this is normal, a consequence of the circuit-focused valving rather than a fault. Everything about the build assumes a track surface, which is why bumps that would unsettle a road damper are a non-issue here.

Fitment for the Toyota MR2 W10 (1984-1986)

This kit is built for the W10 chassis across the 1984 to 1986 model years – the early first-generation MR2. Confirm your car falls within that year span before ordering, as the spec is matched to the W10 platform and its strut layout.
