XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Toyota MR2 W10 1984-1986

The W10 MR2 carries most of its mass behind the driver, and on a loose surface that rearward bias is the first thing a co-driver feels through the seat. The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover for the Toyota MR2 W10 is built around that reality: a long-travel, inverted-tube damper designed to keep this short-wheelbase mid-engined car planted when the surface stops being predictable.

Where a tarmac kit wants to control body movement, a gravel stage wants the suspension to swallow it. This is a loose-surface tool first and foremost, with the stroke and spring length to let an AW11 ride a rutted, cresting road rather than skip across the top of it.

What this coilover does for your 1984-1986 Toyota MR2 W10

The long stroke gives the W10’s lightweight chassis room to keep tyres on the ground over compressions and washboard, which on a 1000kg mid-engined car is the difference between drive and a spin. The inverted-tube layout adds bending strength at the strut, so the front end resists deflection when you load it into a rutted corner. The longer springs absorb chassis vibration that would otherwise unsettle the rear under power, calming the lift-throttle rotation the AW11 is known for. The result is a Toyota MR2 W10 that you can lean on across sandstone, silt or snow without the back stepping out before you have asked it to.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

This Gravel Rally coilover is engineered specifically for rally and rallycross, where the road surface is the most aggressive an absorber will ever meet. XYZ Racing treats the damper as the most important component of a gravel car, and the design reflects that. The inverted-tube construction is built to cope with mixed loose surfaces, from sandstone to snow to silt. Long stroke and long springs let the suspension absorb chassis vibration, attack fast undulating roads without bottoming, and carry the extreme G-force loads a mid-engined car generates through a turn. Every spring rate in the range has been set and validated by XYZ Racing’s own rally team rather than picked from a chart.

Fitment for the Toyota MR2 W10 (1984-1986)

This kit is matched to the W10 chassis MR2 across the 1984 to 1986 build span. Spring rates and stroke are specified for the AW11’s mid-engined layout and kerb weight. Confirm your chassis code reads W10 before you configure.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
