XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Suzuki SWIFT 2011-2017

A Swift on a gravel stage is fighting a different battle to a heavier car. At roughly a tonne, the SZ07-generation Swift carries so little mass that the dampers, not the springs alone, end up doing the work of keeping the tyres loaded over ruts, jumps and washboard surfaces. The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover is built for exactly that job: long-stroke, long-spring suspension made to soak up a rough loose-surface stage rather than smooth tarmac.

This is the loose-surface specification in the XYZ Racing range, developed for gravel-stage rally and rallycross rather than circuit or fast-road use. The spring rates are deliberately softer and the travel longer than a tarmac coilover, so the front-wheel-drive Swift can put its drive down and keep moving when the surface turns to sandstone, snow or silt.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2017 Suzuki Swift

On gravel, grip comes from keeping the contact patch loaded through the bumps, and that is where the long stroke earns its place. The extra travel lets the wheels follow a broken surface instead of skipping across it, so the light Swift stays driveable when it lands off a crest or crosses a rutted corner. The inverted strut design adds bending stiffness at the front axle, which matters on a front-wheel-drive car that loads its outside front hard mid-corner. Because the spring rates were set by a rally team rather than picked off a chart, the kit arrives with a baseline that already suits loose-surface attack, and the damping holds the chassis composed when you carry speed over an uneven, bouncing road. The result is a car that rotates on lift, soaks the hits, and bears the cornering loads a gravel stage throws at it.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing builds this damper specifically for rally and rallycross, where the surface is the harshest in motorsport and the shock absorber does more than any other component to keep a car on the road. The construction centres on an inverted tube layout, chosen so the damper can cope with the varied terrain a stage throws up, from sandstone to snow to silt. Long stroke and a long spring give the travel needed to absorb chassis vibration and attack a fast, bouncy surface without bottoming out, while still bearing the heavy G-force loads that build through a committed gravel corner. Every spring rate in the kit has been tested by a rally racing team, so the supplied settings reflect real stage use rather than a generic catalogue figure. It is a focused, single-purpose loose-surface coilover, not a road kit pressed into rally duty.

Fitment for the Suzuki Swift (2011-2017)

This kit is specified for the SZ07-generation Suzuki Swift built between 2011 and 2017. Confirm your chassis code and model year against the listing before ordering, as the loose-surface specification is matched to this platform.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
