XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Porsche 992 CARRERA-4/S CABRIOLET (without hydraulic lift system) 2019-2026

Dropping the Hydraulic Lift System from a 992 Carrera-4S Cabriolet is a deliberate signal: this car will be driven with intent, and the height-adjustable front strut assembly it frees up is less important than the suspension geometry that replaces it. The combination of Porsche’s PTM all-wheel drive, the wider Carrera 4 bodyshell, and the Cabriolet’s additional structural mass – the reinforcing steel and roof mechanism add meaningful weight over the equivalent coupe – means that on a tarmac stage, the car asks specific questions of its dampers.

The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover for the Porsche 992 Carrera-4/S Cabriolet is built to answer them. This is a coilover developed for sealed-stage competition use, with settings drawn from actual tarmac rally programme data rather than adapted road geometry.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Porsche 992 Carrera-4/S Cabriolet

The 992’s rear-biased weight distribution is most pronounced under hard braking – the engine’s mass, sitting behind the rear axle, pitches forward and loads the front axle as the car decelerates into a hairpin. Insufficient damping authority over sudden compressions lets that pitch translate into an unstable entry; this kit’s calibration suppresses that body movement across surface changes, so the Carrera 4’s PTM system receives consistent wheel-load signals rather than momentary unloading over crested sections. The result is predictable traction out of slow corners where the AWD torque split matters most, and improved tyre contact patch consistency across the patched, uneven surfaces that characterise most tarmac stages. For the Cabriolet specifically, the added mass of the roof mechanism and the stiffened sills alter how the body responds to roll inputs compared to the coupe – and this coilover’s damping accounts for that difference.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover is built around one specific use case: sealed-surface stage competition, where the road surface shifts between fresh tarmac and the heavily patched junctions that catch drivers mid-corner. The calibration across this coilover set comes directly from XYZ’s own tarmac rally racing programme – every setting has been arrived at through on-stage experience rather than simulation. Internally, the design is engineered to absorb the jolt from large surface irregularities and crested compressions without surrendering composure through extended corner sequences. Suppression of bodyshell movement sits at the centre of the specification; consistent tyre contact patch – and with it, traction – is the tangible result. Spring and damping rates are weighted to manage fore-aft pitch under braking and acceleration, the two inputs that dominate on any tarmac stage.

Fitment for the Porsche 992 Carrera-4/S Cabriolet (2019-2026)

This kit covers the 992-generation Porsche 911 Carrera-4 and Carrera-4S Cabriolet produced between 2019 and 2026 (XYZ chassis code PO29), specifically variants without the factory Hydraulic Lift System. The HLS-delete specification is a hard fitment requirement: the hydraulic strut housings in HLS-equipped cars are incompatible with standard coilover assemblies, so the system must have been factory-deleted or professionally removed before fitment.
