XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Porsche 992 CARRERA-4/S CABRIOLET (without hydraulic lift system) 2019-2026

The 992 Carrera-4’s rear-engine, all-wheel-drive layout loads the rear wheels under power while holding front-axle traction in reserve – a combination Porsche’s own rally programme exploited in the sport’s early decades, and one that remains genuinely effective on loose surfaces. The Cabriolet body works harder for chassis compliance than the coupé does, making the damper specification correspondingly more critical when the surface beneath the car is gravel, silt, or packed snow.

The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover kit addresses exactly this application: a 992 Carrera-4/S Cabriolet built for loose-surface competition, without the hydraulic lift system that would otherwise complicate ride height management. Inverted-tube construction, extended stroke, and long spring travel separate this from a stiffened road or circuit setup – this is hardware conceived for the most aggressive road conditions in motorsport.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Porsche 992 CARRERA-4/S CABRIOLET

Replacing the standard PASM system with the Gravel Rally kit changes how the 992 absorbs a stage surface. Extended stroke travel handles the continuous high-frequency inputs of gravel compression without exhausting wheel travel, and the long spring specification allows the chassis to absorb the large hits that come from high-speed running on uneven terrain. Inverted-tube construction concentrates damper mass upward, reducing unsprung weight at the wheel end – on the 992’s wide front axle, that translates directly into faster steering response over rough surfaces where the front tyres are constantly hunting for grip. Spring rates have been verified by rally racing teams across sandstone, snow, and silt conditions, so each setting reflects real competition loading rather than a theoretical starting point. The rear-engine weight bias that loads the drive tyres so effectively in standard guise becomes, in this setup, a chassis characteristic the suspension is tuned around rather than one it has to compensate for.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

The Gravel Rally is the XYZ Racing range built from the ground up for rally cross and gravel stage competition – not adapted from a circuit or fast-road setup, but conceived around the specific demands of loose-surface motorsport, where road condition aggression exceeds anything a sealed circuit presents. Inverted-tube damper construction positions the larger-diameter body upward, reducing reciprocating mass at the wheel end and allowing faster response to the continuous surface irregularities of a stage. Extended stroke and long spring travel allow the kit to handle chassis vibration, high-speed compressions, and the extreme G-loading that comes with hard cornering on surfaces as varied as sandstone, snow, and silt. Spring rates across the range have been tested by rally racing teams rather than derived from road data, so the calibration reflects what actually happens on a stage. The overall design intent is a damper that bears the specific inputs of gravel competition – aggressively bouncy high-speed roads, hard lateral loads, and unpredictable surface variation – in conditions where a conventional performance coilover would quickly reach its limits.

Fitment for the Porsche 992 CARRERA-4/S CABRIOLET (2019-2026)

This kit is developed for the 992-generation Porsche Carrera-4 and Carrera-4S Cabriolet (chassis code PO29), covering model years 2019 to 2026. The specification applies to cars without the optional hydraulic lift system; if your 992 Cabriolet is fitted with nose-lift, this is not the correct kit. Confirm your build specification before ordering.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
