XYZ Racing Super Sport Coilovers — Porsche 992 CARRERA-4/S CABRIOLET (without hydraulic lift system) 2019-2026

The 992 generation pushed the rear track 44 millimetres wider than the 991, and in Carrera 4S form with all-wheel drive, the weight distribution and chassis balance are already a long way from the rear-biased 911 of older generations. Add the Cabriolet’s structural load – reinforced A-pillars, the windscreen roll-over frame, the convertible mechanism itself – and you’re working with a car that is meaningfully heavier than the equivalent coupé before any suspension work begins.

On a 992 without the hydraulic front-axle lift system, ride height is a committed decision rather than a button press. These Super Sport coilovers replace the factory passive setup with a fully adjustable platform: 36-way damping across the range means the gap between a relaxed A-road run and a track-day morning doesn’t require a workshop visit in between.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Porsche 992 CARRERA-4/S CABRIOLET

The Cabriolet’s additional structural mass, combined with the AWD hardware up front, makes the 4S nose-heavy in a way the coupé isn’t. The 36-way damping adjustment lets you run firmer settings at the front to manage dive and reduce the understeer that comes with that weight distribution, without turning the car into a liability over UK road surfaces. Ride height adjustability is the other side of this: the absent hydraulic lift means clearance needs to be baked into the setup permanently, and the Super Sport’s adjustment range is wide enough to find a position that handles both driveways and dual carriageways without neutralising the drop. Where the factory passive dampers on a 992 Cabriolet are calibrated for comfort above all else, these give you the tuning range to shift that balance on your terms.

About the Super Sport coilover

XYZ Racing’s Super Sport is built for the scenario the 992 Cabriolet actually lives in: fast-road driving with the occasional circuit session, where the suspension has to do both without the owner having to choose one or the other. The 36-way damping adjustment is wide enough to run softer settings on a daily commute and step up several clicks for track work, with a real difference in behaviour across the range rather than marginal change between positions. Ride height adjusts independently of damper stiffness, so lowering the 992 to close the wheel arch gap doesn’t force a harsher everyday ride. The system was designed specifically to address discomfort from rough and uneven road surfaces – directly relevant in a car that, even at standard height, sits close to the ground and transmits surface irregularities clearly without well-controlled damping. At both ends of the adjustment range, the behaviour is consistent enough for high-mileage motorway runs and focused enough for a proper track day.

Fitment for the Porsche 992 CARRERA-4/S CABRIOLET (2019-2026)

This fitment (chassis code PO29) covers the Porsche 992 Carrera-4 and Carrera-4S Cabriolet from model year 2019 through 2026. The kit is specified for cars without the factory hydraulic front-axle lift system – confirm your build specification before ordering, as the suspension architecture differs on lift-equipped cars. Replaces the factory passive dampers on all four corners; no modification to the AWD drivetrain is required.
