The 997 Turbo Carrera-4’s rear-engine, all-wheel-drive layout places demands on a circuit setup that most coilover kits are never asked to meet. With the flat-six sitting behind the rear axle and upwards of 480 bhp routing through all four wheels, the chassis develops substantial cornering loads – but the AWD system’s natural tendency toward understeer at the limit, combined with the rear mass concentration under hard acceleration, means spring rate and damping choices have outsized consequences here. Factory PASM is a road compromise; a manually adjustable replacement is the right tool for track work.
The XYZ Racing Circuit Master coilover for the Porsche 997 Turbo Carrera-4 gives you a three-knob system with 9,720 distinct adjustment combinations. That is the resolution needed to work with the 997 Turbo’s specific weight distribution – adjusting corner entry rotation, taming rear squat under boost, and finding the balance between front and rear damping that the AWD system can actually exploit.
What this coilover does for your 2005-2011 Porsche 997 TURBO CARRERA-4
The three independent adjustment knobs let you manage front-to-rear damping balance with precision – something that matters considerably when the AWD layout’s tendency to understeer into long corners is something you want to reduce with rebound adjustment rather than compensate for with line choice. The rear-engine weight concentration means the rear dampers are carrying significant load on traction zones; firmer compression at the rear stops the car squatting and losing geometry when the flat-six delivers full boost on exit. On a car where the deployable rear spoiler is calibrated to a factory ride height, lowering the 997 Turbo Carrera-4 also changes the aerodynamic attitude – altering rake angle and front-end downforce contribution at the nose. The wide-track Turbo bodywork distributes these changes differently from a standard Carrera, and the Circuit Master’s adjustment range accommodates that.
About the Circuit Master coilover
The Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s specification for sustained competitive circuit use, positioned in the same product tier as their Racing Spec, Drift Spec, and Tarmac Rally variants – each calibrated for a distinct motorsport application. The design has been developed and tested by XYZ Racing teams at circuits internationally, with the three-knob architecture providing 9,720 possible settings across the combined adjustment range. The small oil-passage design in the valving is worth understanding: damper fluid is metered through a narrow channel during large suspension movements, which can produce a minor noise on rough road surfaces. This is a characteristic of the valving design, not a fault, and it is not relevant on the smooth tarmac of a circuit where this product is intended to operate. The Circuit Master coilover is not configured for daily-road use as a primary concern.
Fitment for the Porsche 997 TURBO CARRERA-4 (2005-2011)
This kit is coded to chassis reference PO04-2 and covers the Porsche 997 Turbo Carrera-4 across both the 997.1 platform and the 997.2 facelift introduced around 2009, up to the end of production in 2011. The Turbo Carrera-4’s specific wide-body suspension pickup points and geometry differ from the standard Carrera; this kit is listed for that variant and should not be assumed to interchange with narrower-body 997 configurations.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
Top mounts included with your kit
Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.
Pillow ballPSolid pillow-ball (spherical bearing) upper — chosen for rigidity and precise camber adjustment, the sharpest steering response of the options.
AluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
